Art & Life with Andrew Reed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Reed.

Andrew, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Back in March 2015 my GF and I broke up and I let go of everything, my business, my hobbies… all of it. Decided to just go out and PLAY!

A few months later a found my camera in the back my closet… and decided to use it. My first shoot was a paid shoot… and I never looked back.

Here I am 3 years later and have a 6-figure photo business… where all I do is PLAY! 😉

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I capture peoples souls… their essence. I take a LOT of time to get to know them weeks before we ever shoot… and then when we meet up on set or in the studio, I already know them and their soul. so, I dig a bit deeper and pull out what I see in their depths.

**And I don’t use photoshop on my images… I love the RAW and REAL feeling that life offers. So I use Lightroom to just color correct, crop, and remove the occasional zit! 😉

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Yea… Remember what you started. We often get caught up in the minutia of where we are now… but you started this for a reason. Sad to say… for some people that is choosing a life of being “lonely”… for me that was just the opposite. I do this to BE WITH PEOPLE!

Sure, editing alone in the dark is like shoving nails in my eyeballs for fun… but hey, the rest of it is amazing!! If you are lonely… that is YOUR FAULT. No one else can make you get up and go outside. So, make a different choice than the one you’ve made every day so far, and your tomorrow will be different.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Facebook & IG is where I put most of my stuff… it’s mainly client work… all “my personal” work is not public.
