Art & Life with Briawna Meier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briawna Meier.

Briawna, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I began photography at 15 when my dad bought me my first camera. When I had my senior portraits taken I incorporated my love for photography. My photographer later invited me to travel with her from Idaho to Charlotte, NC to attend a photography conference just after my 17th birthday. My parents surprisingly let me go, and I had the honor of meeting so many incredible industries leading photographers from across the US. I later attended two more conferences my 18th and 19th year in the Florida Keys and St. Louis, MO. I moved from Idaho back to my hometown of San Diego where I attended college and earned my Bachelors of Science in Advertising. Throughout my degree, I second shot weddings consistently to help me through school and to keep at my craft. After graduation, I jumped feet first into being a full-time wedding photographer at the age of 22.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I believe in the power of photos being more than a social media post. Take me back to the days where wedding albums and large portraits were passed down generations and generations. I think many have lost the true sentimental value behind what we do for a living, and I try to capture both beautiful works but also memories and art pieces that my clients can hang in their home and pass down to future generations.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Take your time to develop your skill, don’t be a jack of all trades – truly find what ignites a fire in your soul. That’s what you go after. Spend all your energy developing yourself and your brand around what you love and what you’re good at. Success will follow.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Online at and sharing my work with others and just showing love on posts that speak to you go such a long way for us small business owners.
