Art & Life with Kellie Talbert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kellie Talbert.

Kellie, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
When I was very young I remember telling my teachers and friends I wanted to be an artist. At the time I didn’t quite know what it meant, I just knew I wanted to create. I was constantly drawing, painting and creating with anything I could get my hands on. My parents were always supportive of what I wanted to do in life. My dad would tell me “If that is going to make you happy in your life, do it.” I think my parents knew the big secret, that money isn’t what brings happiness. Well… Here I am, an artist. Doing what I truly love and happier than ever.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a photographer, but there are many faces that come with that title. I’m a writer, a stylist, a planner, and many more titles that come with the job. I enjoy working with couples to create their unique visual story. I always try to learn my client’s personalities and the story of their relationship. Sometimes I even try to find out their biggest fears or their most embarrassing moments. Once my client tells me something personal they no longer feel like a client, but I’m now someone they are trusting. The session usually bursts into a fun, emotional rollercoaster of love and imagery. I always want a client to learn one thing new about themselves during a session so I continuously challenge them. Whether the challenge involves a little rock climbing or maybe a dip in the ocean, my sessions are intended to be an experience.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
The way I define my growth and success is how I choose to spend my time. As an artist, I am constantly creating. Even when I think I’m taking a break, I’m imagining new ways to provoke my creativity. For success, an important to quality to hold is to let others inspire you and stay open-minded.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
