Art & Life with Reed Byrd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reed Byrd.

Reed, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
When I was a kid, I found a camera in the garage. I started bringing it everywhere with me and it quickly became part of my persona. Just before high school, I started acting and modeling – giving me a chance to collaborate with professionals and really fall in love with the artistry of photography. I worked on both sides of the lens until my modeling contract expired, and here we are today! I stay behind the camera and absolutely love it.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I do my best to create art that feels familiar and genuine. The bulk of my work is weddings and families – so I always want my clients to really recognize themselves in my work… but also I want them to see themselves in a new way. I have a huge heart for creativity and I hope that my work stretches peoples’ perspectives.

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Don’t be shy. Send that Instagram message, go to that event, share your ideas, get inspired.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My work is on Instagram, Facebook, and my website.

My favorite way for people to show support is through social media or email! I love hearing from people directly, don’t be shy!
