Art & Life with Vaughn Hurtault

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vaughn Hurtault.

Vaughn, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I started tattooing at 19 years old in my college dorm in Florida. After dropped out of college I moved to Georgia and I worked a warehouse job for a few months. I did not feel like working at a warehouse was for me. I seeked out an apprenticeship in 2011 quit my old job and never looked back.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I have worked in street shops in different parts of the country. That allowed me to be exposed to lots of different people of different backgrounds. I learned to switch my style up for the client’s vision. But I enjoy traditional style tattooing and black&gray style.

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Art days/nights with other artists are a great way to connect. Organize one with peers in person or online.
