Check out Andy Meyers’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Meyers.

Andy, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
When I was growing up, I have certain creative outlets but never really found one that I was good enough at to continue. I would be interested in the art of photography over the years since childhood but never really explored or participated in it.

For Christmas 2015, my mother bought me a Camera Rebel T5 with a kit lens. I fell in love with photography and started shooting everything. I then upgraded my camera and started to travel locally to get more shots and start building my portfolio, and having fun!

I have since immersed myself in everything photography including starting a degree program in Digital Photography and taking place in art shows and contests which have produced cash awards.

Love for the art of photography fuels my motivation to continue to develop my skills.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art is photography. I believe that I am drawn to photography over other arts because my skill for recognizing and capturing beauty comes more naturally then putting a pen/paint/pastels/etc to paper.

With some exception, my photography isn’t about a message, it’s simply about capturing and presenting something beautiful. It could be what is generally thought of as beauty or sometimes what I perceive as beauty. My hope is that people can see this beauty, experience it and take themselves out of our crazy, stressful world even if just for a moment.

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
World issues don’t affect my work directly. If anything, it gives me the motivation to shoot and promote my work more so that the public can see my work and forget about world issues, even if just for a short while.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can see my work on Instagram and on my website. They can support my work by promoting my work to others as well as purchasing prints.
