Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Trina.
Danielle, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
8 years ago at the age of 32, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. I was told the survival rate was low. I had a complicated surgery called the whipple to remove the cancer! 8 years ago. Prior to all of this, I was working in a job I needed to be at to bring in an income. I was not happy. I honestly believe my battle with cancer taught me about TRUE SURVIVAL! I’m a survivor, not of cancer but of life! I’ve overcome the fear of being my authentic self of who I’m truly meant to be. 5 years into remission, I walked into my job and explained that I was not meant to be there. I explained that I was meant to help people hold onto moments in their lives, that I was supposed to paint life with light. So, I quit that day, on a leap of fate, with all I had, full of grace! I left, and in THAT moment, I became a SURVIVOR! I had allowed myself to overcome the fear of being ME! And now 8 years after my long fight I’ve taken the journey into my own field of dreams, painting life with light through the lens of my camera.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
my goal, my main intention when I shoot, is to capture more than just a photograph. I want you to look at my images and be moved by them! I want them to pull at your heart strings. Singer Kelly Clarkson says it best “like a montage in a movie right before the hero dies, like the first time that you listen to your favorite singer live, like an echo in a canyon, like tears when you’re not sad, like the sunrise on a mountain…I want to move you like that!”
It is my Hope that what truly lies behind the strength and loyalty of my brand is the way that my photographs make you feel, that my photography evokes raw emotion and tugs at your heart strings. My Personal stories run deep inside each and every photograph I take! I AM Danielle Trina Photography
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
CREATE, keep creating!! Do it NOW because there truly is “No day but today!” Embrace your failures. I’ve learned and grown the most as an artist during setbacks, mishaps and failures. Your “attitude determines your altitude!” You decide your fate! Change the way you look at things! I see ALL THINGS as win win situations! I either try and everything works out or it doesn’t and if it doesn’t then I have an opportunity to learn more and grow!
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
