Check out Kayla Lauriano’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Lauriano.

Kayla, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My passion is fueled by creating, educating and empowering women through the most magical and life-altering transition to motherhood! I feel so lucky to be able to hold this space for women from all backgrounds, and I have been fortunate enough to do so by integrating experience as a medical professional with holistic practices. For the past nine years, I have supported women as a Registered Labor & Delivery and Neonatal ICU Nurse. In conjunction with my nursing career, I am a Professional Lifestyle Photographer specializing in Maternity, Newborn and Empowered Woman sessions. Most recently, I became a Prenatal Yoga Instructor to further educate and empower women throughout their pregnancy and birth through holistic and mindful living.

In Labor and Delivery, I get to celebrate birthdays every single day! What most people aren’t aware of is I am also given the opportunity to care for and hold space for mamas who are having the worst day of their lives. This is how Wounded Womb came to fruition. I created this workshop for the grieving mama, to facilitate healing their womb after the loss of their baby through movement and pranayama (breathing).

When I am not hustlin’, you can find me wandering around the world from sea to summit, watching the sunset, immersing myself in different cultures and snuggling babies! These are a few things that fuel my soul! I live in a mermaid cottage by the sea, love to laugh, spend time with family and my boyfriend and live off of Mexican Coca-Cola and naps! I recently adopted the sweetest 4-year-old pittie, Boomer, who shares my love for naps!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
All of my art is centered around the divine feminine. Every day I get to witness the strength, vulnerability, and beauty of women! My mission is to make every woman feel loved, supported and beautiful in every stage of life by empowering them through yoga and photography. My art is unique because you are unique! I hope that when my clients experience my art, they see the beauty that they already possess within themselves!

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
For me, success is defined by doing something that I love! I am driven most by purpose. If there is no greater purpose behind my work, I will not be fulfilled by it. I believe self-care, rest and consistency is essential to becoming a successful artist. It’s also important to be authentic to yourself. That is where your best work will shine!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
