Check out Kristina Cvetkovic’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Cvetkovic.

Kristina, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My journey began in Milwaukee, Wisconsin when I was a child getting dressed up for family photoshoots with my siblings. My mother coordinated these family photoshoots once a year in the park, and it was there that my love for photography was first realized; I was so excited to see these memories later in my family room, capturing the cherished moments of each of those days. As I grew older my passion for photography grew stronger and as a teenager, I always had a camera in hand eager to capture every minute even if they seemed insignificant at the time. I have countless photo albums still to this day that brings me back to those precious fleeting moments, and I am SO thankful to have them, because I now realize that all of these “little” moments, slowly blossomed into a big part of my life! It wasn’t until 2015 that I realized my roots in photography actually began back in 1953 with my Grandfather Leonard where he purchased his first camera in Okinawa, Japan while in the service. It was only after he passed away, that I discovered as an adult, that he created scrapbook-style captions for each photo he took. With each photograph, I came to know and understand my grandfather more so, sharing new experiences with him even after he was gone.

I moved to California and studied Business Administration at California State University San Marcos where I graduated in 2014. I worked in the accounting field for several years; however, my heart was still longing for the creative outlet in photography that I had always had an infinite love for. After getting married and having our daughter in 2016, my obsession grew even stronger, photographing my daughter with every chance I could get. It was during this time I realized more than ever how truly precious these moments were and how quickly time passes us all by, and how each day we should be striving to live our best and most meaningful life by doing everything with love and passion. Because of this, I was set on following my lifelong dream of becoming a photographer. With a lot of effort and hard work, things started falling into place and doors began to open for me and my business, Infinite Lee Photography. I feel that I’ve come full circle, as a new mother now, creating fun photoshoots with my very own family, continuing the tradition my mother started! Being so fortunate to watch my artistic dream unfold into reality, I can only hope to share my passion about capturing these photographic treasures with others!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I create lasting memories of time. I am a portrait and wedding photographer for moments that you want to pause. Every photo should take you back to that very moment and feeling – even if for just a minute. The photographs that you will get to pass on for generations to come. For me, photography transcends time – it’s the original time machine, a capsule just waiting to take you back even if you were never there! A picture is not only worth a thousand words, it’s worth a thousand emotions! I would hope to have my photographs inspire other young souls to follow their dreams and passions because I believe if you set your heart to something – it is attainable. Never give up on your dreams because we only have this one life to live – I want to make it my best, by spending it doing something meaningful and full of love.

The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
In today’s world, there are so many talented artists and photographers – I feel lucky to be in such a time. The technology and digital world of photography today is truly amazing. However, it is also saturated, and in a sea of photographers, it’s easy to lose your way and get lost at times. Being such a competitive and fast-paced field, it can be financially straining and easy to lose motivation comparing yourself to the other talent out there. However, for me, I found it most important to keep fighting and working towards my dream because I knew with hard work and dedication, I would get to where I wanted to be. Trying not compare myself to the second-by-second posts you see while scrolling social media was tough, and still sometimes is! It’s important to remind yourself of why you love what you do, often. Persistence is key – never give up on your dreams!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Currently, you can view my photographs on my website at www.infiniteleephotography.com, Instagram at @infiniteleephotography, Facebook at Infinite Lee Photography, and in the homes hanging on the walls of my amazing clients! 😉
