Check out Lindsay Meacham’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Meacham.

Lindsay, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I grew up in Poway, CA in a family of Architects. Our life was a constant remodel and I fondly remember running around town with my mother making selections for finishes and fixtures. My parents always encouraged me artistically. While attending Miami University in Ohio, I completed a tile project and knew this is what I was meant to do. I slowly began acquiring ceramic production equipment and launched my first tile collection in 2006. In 2011 I moved my business to Nashville, TN where we have doubled in size. I am happy to employ an amazing group of talented artists that help me create our fresh tile designs.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I design and produce quality ceramic wall tile. Our clay is mined locally and blended to our specification and our glazes are made in-house. We specialize in textured field tile, think wallpaper affect but in durable ceramic.

I am inspired by global and traditional design but like to put my own contemporary twist on it. Our colors are bright and clean and our looks have a timeless feel.

I love creating for the home. Tile is such a great way to inject some personality into the places we spend the most time. When family and friends come over, how nice is it to have functional art in the center of it all.. the kitchen!

It is important to love your surroundings. We make products with love and intention and want to make your space better through thoughtful design. It really isn’t just tile anymore.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
I feel successful when I complete a piece. Sometimes I will labor over tiny details and sometimes it will take only a few hours to create. Once the product makes it through its first production run it is so special. The pattern evolves as the multiples come out of the kilns and the colors are fired on to make them pop.

Success is seeing how our customers enjoy what we labor over. We are honored to be selected for installation in some of the most beautiful homes and restaurants in the country.

Making a business out of my art has definitely not been easy but it is has been such an amazing journey. I think it’s important to persevere, be smart with your time, and trust your instincts.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
We have several showrooms throughout Southern California. You can see a complete list as well as order samples on our website.

Our Instagram is also a great way to see what is currently going through the tile works.
