Today we’d like to introduce you to Oleg Tsank.
Oleg, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Growing up, I was probably one of the few kids in the world who did not like drawing. However, in high school, I understood the captivating beauty of art. Back then I studied breathtaking reproductions of masterpiece paintings and drawings. After examining such amazing artworks from the masters, I started drawing bit by bit. I realized that art was my calling, and I became a professional artist.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a painter, working primarily in oil paints, versatile in drawing as well. I am intrigued by the atmospheric forces. In particular, I am interested in the way such forces shape the visible world. In order to capture this interaction of natural elements, I rely on drawing and painting. With everything around us constantly changing, I am not recording an accurate appearance of people and their surroundings. Instead I am interpreting that movement through spontaneous marks and a subjective palette.
How can artists connect with other artists?
Ideally, an artist should find a way to network with creative people, in person or online. One can also connect with other creatives through reading literature, attending musical events, or visiting museums.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My work can be seen in person in a gallery: 415 Parkway Plaza, El Cajon, CA 92020, and also online on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Oleg-Tsank-Fine-Art-372525352867954/.
