Check Out Juliana Hinrichs’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliana Hinrichs.

Hi Juliana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had an interest in art. Color, anything creative really. My mom was an avid Gardner growing up, so maybe that was unconsciously a part of my love for flowers. I went to design school and nothing really stuck. It was about rules and guidelines that I was quickly bored with. I’m not exactly sure when I started playing with flowers, I’d say around when I was 18. And instantly, I fell in love. There were no rules. I just picked what I wanted and went with it. And I was good at it! I started doing friends and family members events, baby, showers, weddings as a gift. Then I started taking myself for seriously. Fast forward to now, I work out of my garage. I’ve got a full setup. I don’t necessarily call myself a professional, my family would roll their eyes at that, but I just freaking love making beautiful creations!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Relatively smooth, I’d say. I’d love to grow my business, but truly marketing myself is my worst nightmare. Lol!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a floral designer, I’d say! A creator of live art! I have a heavy floral hand which means I love love love a lot of flowers in my work. Texture is a must, I always add an unexpected “something” in all that I do. I use both live and dried flowers. It doesn’t matter the color palette I will always make it different and unique. Never ever boring. I cringe at the thought! If you can dream it, I can do it!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My family and dear friends. Giving me a push. Making me believe I was talented enough to put myself out there. When you are a creative person, your work is really never good enough. If that makes sense. So even to this day, I need them. They support that loud doubt in my mind.
