Check out Stacey Kammerer’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Kammerer.

Stacey, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I grew up outside Chicago in Northwest Indiana and left to go to school in Seattle. After getting a degree in International Business and Marketing, I didn’t feel like I was meant for the regular corporate world. A few years later, I decided to take a chance on myself and pursue photography. I was naturally drawn to the San Diego sunsets and started to take my camera to the beach. Things grew from there. I enjoy all types of photography, but nature was always around if I wanted to practice. It is so calming and beautiful. It was a great way to escape when I was working other jobs, and I wanted others to feel that same bond.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Landscape photography is my main focus at the moment. I want my art to speak to people and inspire them to be more conscious and appreciative of the environment. The earth has given us so much, and we need to constantly improve upon our actions to give back to it. A lot of my work until recently has been of sunset beach scenes, which I am considering making into a clothing line once I find the right sustainable materials. I’m currently working in the Pacific Northwest on some darker/moodier landscapes to show another layer of the West Coast.

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
Just keep practicing your craft. There is constantly room to learn and grow. Art is subjective, so please don’t get lost in what you think might sell. Stay true to yourself and your creativity will drive you forward.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Ultimately I would love to have in person galleries in San Diego and New Zealand amongst other places. For now, anyone can follow me on social media and keep in touch for updates for any pop up exhibits. Prints are always available by email. I like to consult personally with anyone interested in purchasing prints. I usually make recommendations off what the customer asks, and they end up very happy with the tweaks we make to what they add to their home.

I am always looking for partners for future projects. The clothing line is my next big project (likely to be followed by a book), and I would love to find someone eager to push forward a sustainable line with me. If you or anyone you know might be a good fit, please have them email me!
