Check out Tobias Ogden’s of Image In Love

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tobias Ogden.

Tobias, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I suppose my journey into photography started with surfing. From when I was 7 years old learning how to surf than in my teenage years I was surfing in amateur contests and getting sponsors. Along with sponsors was an expectation for producing photos for them to use for ads and also an expectation for me to get my photos published in magazines. I met a photographer that became a close friend so he would always get photos of me.

As the surfing dream started to vanish I was transitioning to work in marketing for a large action sports company. I worked with all the athletes and was on surf trips with them and I started to bring a camera with me to get some photos of the athletes. I would end up getting some pretty good photos and the company started using my photos for advertising and was also being published in magazines too.

It was not long before I was promoted to just be a staff photographer for the company. I learned so much from that experience. I was able to develop skills with product photography, working with models, water photography, action sports like BMX, Wakeboarding, Skateboarding, Surfing, Moto and MMA too.

I started to dabble into doing weddings and it was a dream that one day I could be a wedding photographer. Fast forward 10 years after that and I am a full-time family photographer. I photograph weddings, Family portraits, Maternity Photos, New Borns and all other family style photos.

I absolutely love what I do, I really did have a dream of being where I am now and it feels really fulfilling to achieve what I had imagined so long ago.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I like to call my self a family photographer. Sometimes I will work with a family for all the special events happening with them from the engagement, to the wedding, to the maternity photos, newborn and the family photos each year.

I do my best to capture the real emotions. It is important to me to make my subjects feel as comfortable as possible. When they are, they will naturally become more themselves and the photos just come out that much better.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
I think that the only challenge is yourself. If you have the drive to do something then you can make it happen. Be motivated, go the extra mile, over deliver, take chances and always be learning. good things will come.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Some exciting things happening with the business is that I opened a gallery and photography studio in Oceanside. I’ll have more info on my website and social media.
