Community Highlights: Meet Amanda Renzi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Renzi.

Hi Amanda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would be where I am today. I graduated from Lesley University thinking I would be a High School History teacher, but shortly after I graduated, my husband was given orders to transfer and shortly thereafter, I got pregnant with our son. By the time I was ready to start my career, I realized teaching High School History was not my passion.

Three years ago, we transferred out to San Diego; I was a military wife and mom feeling stuck, struggling to find a job that worked with our family schedule, living paycheck to paycheck in a new city hundreds of miles away from any family or friends. I felt helpless until a mom from my son’s preschool asked if I would like to go to a Pure Romance event. After that event, I knew it was time to take a chance and start my own business. I am a sexual health consultant; I empower, educate and entertain women about sexual health and well-being. I love being able to give women the empowerment that they need to truly see their beauty and worth for themselves and in their relationships.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I started, I had just moved to southern California; I knew maybe four people. In order to be successful, I knew I needed to meet new people and find my community. I had to put myself out there and talk to women about a topic that in society can be taboo. I had a lot of rejection; at vendor events, people would walk by me and avoid making eye contact at all cost, even my own family would avoid the topic. It didn’t stop me, it fueled me!

Then January 2019, the government shut down and my husband guaranteed paycheck disappeared. I had been working my business slowly, booking events here and there but it wasn’t until the shutdown happened that I found my fire. Instead of panicking, I knew that this was my time to step up and provide for my family. So, I booked 12 parties in two weeks and through those parties, I was able to pay all of our bills, push my business to the next level and truly start to feel confident in what I was doing. I could have crumbled and allowed this situation to quit or give up but instead, I used it to propel my business to the next level. Within those few months, I earned “Rookie of the Year”, an award that only goes to a select few within the business. That shutdown could have shut down my business; instead, I am thankful that it happened. It proved that I could provide for my family with this business, it showed me who I truly am as a business owner and it allowed me to grow within myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a sexual health consultant. Empowering, educating and entertaining women 18 year and older about their sexual health and well-being. I love being able to give women the empowerment that they need to truly see their beauty and worth for themselves and in their relationships. I like to say, I empower women from the boardroom to the bedroom.

My business provides fun, safe and educational events for ladies that are 18 and over. I help plan girls’ nights in, Bachelorette parties, divorce parties and birthday parties, all for completely Free. These events allow women to ask questions in a confidential space free from judgement. You are also able to see all the products and find the best ones that work for you. My goal is to make sure all my guest feel comfortable and are having fun. When you host an event with me, you’ll receive a FREE hostess gift and a credit for 10% of your party’s total sales toward any product on your wish list! Plus there is always extra incentives each month.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
My hope is that in the next 5-10 years, after these past two years with the pandemic that people will want to gather more and take time out of their busy schedules to be with their friends and community. As for the industry, I think it is going to boom as technology continues to advance and more research is done on women’s sexual health.
