Community Highlights: Meet Matt Johnson of Realty Crew West

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Johnson.

Hi Matt, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We started this Journey in 2016 while we were searching for our first home. My realtor and I became friends and I asked if he’d mentor me if I committed to earning my real estate license. I was and still am active duty and had to fulfill my duties with the Navy in 2017 by deploying to the Middle East. I returned home from deployment in Dec of 2017 and passed the state exam for my real estate license in Apr 2018. From there, we consistently put Military families in homes. Deployment came again in 2020 and real estate once again was put on the back burner. I returned home again in July of 2020 and for the last six months of the year, we helped more families buy and sell homes then we had ever before. This year in 2021, we’re in track to double that amount, with a majority of those families being active duty military and veterans.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth. Our biggest hurdle is balancing both military life and our business outside of the military. Time management has become essential. At one point in 2020, it was almost overwhelming with the amount of clients interested in buying a home. My wife earned her license in April of this year and was able to help reduce some of the pressure.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a Real Estate team who specialize in helping buyers and sellers with all things real estate. We are currently well known in the Military community for helping many military families, however, we work with anyone and everyone with their real estate needs. What sets us apart is our commitment to our clients and our honesty. Our goal is to put families in the home of their dreams and to assist them in the sale of their property when the time comes. Our brand is about honesty and integrity. We are proud to be a trusted name in our community. We would like readers to know that we are here for them for any and all things real estate. Buying and selling a home should be a stress-free process and we consistently make that happen. We offer experience and knowledge to get buyers and sellers the best deal possible in this crazy hot market.
