Community Highlights: Meet Megan Wright of The Wright Organizer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Wright.

Hi Megan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
If you ask close friends and family, my love for the organization started from a very young age. I would go to the grocery store with my mom, and as she would find her items, I would organize them onto the conveyor belt for what I thought would be most helpful for the checker.

After graduating high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do as a career. I decided to enroll in the local community college and found the perfect class for me titled “Career Decision Making”. The class was full of personality assessments and assignments that lead us to our final project of picking the perfect career for us. While deciding what I wanted to do, I googled, “is professional organization a thing?” Sure enough, it was. This began planting the seeds that would be, The Wright Organizer.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. For a good amount of time, I kept my organizing to word of mouth through friends and family. I would tell myself all kinds of reasons I shouldn’t take it to the next level.

One day I decided to get out of my own way and go for it. Of course, when I got to that point of being ready to give my business my full attention, I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. As any entrepreneur knows, starting your own business requires time and money, which also newborns require! I thought about putting this dream on the back burner, but then I thought to myself, “Would I want her to keep putting her dreams aside?” It isn’t easy being a mom and juggling a business but with each challenge, I take it on knowing I am setting an example for her!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Wright Organizer?
The Wright Organizer is a professional in-home organizing service! Organizing a client’s home is so much more than purging through an area and putting labels on items. It is about helping you as an individual or family find space to do more things you enjoy.

Clutter in your home can be an insight into your mind as well! We often don’t think about the heaviness it can bring someone when their home is cluttered and they don’t know where to start. One of my favorite parts of working with my clients is finishing up space and watching their shoulders relax, their eyes light up, and visibly seeing the relief they feel.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Quality time with my family makes me happy. I am constantly juggling running my business and raising our two kids while my husband is wrapping up medical school. With our schedules being as busy as they are, it has taught us to enjoy any moment we get together and those moments make me happy.

I also am in my happy place when all our family is together for an intense game night, a long walk through The Container Store, or enjoying an ice-cold coke while watching a good sporting game on TV!
