Community Highlights: Meet Rachel Dares

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Dares.

Hi Rachel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was raised in the Philippines and moved to America when I was 21 years old with just 100 bucks in my pocket and a BIG dream. As far back as I can remember, being entrepreneurial has always been strong within me. I’ve been a serial entrepreneur my entire life, but it wasn’t until the last 5-6 years that I stepped into what I feel like my ultimate purpose and calling. As a short stint, I worked as a feature reporter and newscaster (a childhood dream come true) turned Columnist and Publicist. Three years ago, I opened up Rachel Dares PR, a full-service public relations agency. This is definitely one business endeavor I absolutely love and has every element that I fully thrive in – Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations & Communications. My portfolio is comprised of clients from a variety of sectors from business, health, music, entertainment, fashion, fitness, and sports. I champion the work of the game-changers I represent bringing to light the positive and revolutionary advancements they’re making within their respective industries and the world at large. I maintain & enhance the on & offline image of the brands, businesses, and personalities I represent through media relations, community relations, sponsored events, strategic partnerships & collaborations.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The entrepreneurial path is definitely an unpaved, wild, rocky road with its many twists and turns. Let’s just say, it’s certainly one of an adventure. From epic wins, there have been plenty of epic fails. But, at the end of the day…that’s the beauty of it. From making some poor choices, bad partner alignments, and in finding/fine-tuning the ideal team… it’s been a long journey to get here, but through it all, it’s been quite a rewarding one. In business, as in life in general, it’s a constant learning process, making tweaks and adjustments, implementing the right systems, vetting, re-invention – it’s all part of the territory. As an entrepreneur, challenges are inevitable, but these days, I thrive on the need to evolve and find new solutions in winning daily.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
