Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosalina Alvarado.
Hi Rosalina, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Ensenada, Baja California Mexico, I am a graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, I have a degree in Public Accounting, and I practiced for almost twenty years in Mexico. In 1994 I opened a boutique, which is still doing well, always supporting women in their selection of garments, to strengthen their personal image. I came to the United States in 2006. In 2010 I had a very difficult divorce, my children were very young and I had to deal with the American system to defend myself against false accusations, I managed to persevere with my children, they are currently 16 and 19 years old.
I became a certified Domestic Violence counselor and supported at-risk women for a few years in the San Diego area.
Later I was certified in Image Consulting & Personal Shopping, I produced and hosted an online and live TV program in 2020: “Punto de Estilo” about lifestyle, trends, fashion, beauty, and well-being.
Subsequently, I created a transformation program: THE MAGIC OF DRESSING EVERY DAY, it is a face-to-face program for women where self-esteem and unconditional self-acceptance is discussed, it is very important to start from within, strengthen and enhance physical and personality characteristics. The colors that make them look radiant are analyzed as well as wardrobe strategies to find a balance between their essence, their lifestyle, and the message that they want to convey in the different scenarios where they unfold. I love connecting with women and bringing them wellness, in each class. they disconnect from their concerns and focus on themselves, it is a safe space to meet other women, my work is really very rewarding.
I am the Producer and Host of “Perfectly Imperfectas Podcast Show” with my co-hostess and business partner Amanda San Martin. We celebrate Hispanic culture; our guests share their inspirational stories and some helpful resources for the community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It is not easy to arrive in a new country, with a new language and other customs. Being alone with two small children has marked my life forever. Giving them a safe environment, and accompanying them in their own struggles has not been an easy task, I have been in all their important moments, and at the same time, I have had to prepare myself, face my own challenges and create better opportunities for myself and of course for them. Obtaining these certifications has cost me time and effort, I have followed what moves me, what excites me and I have said yes to doors that open, with all faith and passion, the TV program. is an example of this, Mr. Daniel Hirsch invited me to his channel to produce and host a live program and it was a wonderful experience, I explored the creative side that I did not know I had.
It is very exciting to see the positive impact that my work generates in the Spanish-speaking communities.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am passionate about beauty, style, and personal growth. It makes me very happy to help other people. By professionalizing my passion for fashion, image, and style, by keeping myself in constant training and updating,
and in the search to add value with innovative learning, I discovered that what is really necessary is to have training based on a structured, practical, and differentiating methodology to create services that stand out from the rest, that achieve transcendental changes in people’s lives.
I provide them with the knowledge, support, and tools necessary to cause a true comprehensive transformation (from their interior to their exterior) with a great impact on their lives.
With the enormous satisfaction of accompanying them in their process of self-knowledge to project an image in tune with their being and vision of life.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
I want you to also be able to create a lifestyle of freedom for yourself, putting your passion at the service of others, in my case it has been image and style. Find your passion, which is what moves your heart, and work for it.
We all have special abilities, and gifts that make us different from others, you will feel happy to share your gifts as a lifestyle. Accept your imperfections, it is what makes you unique.
