Conversations with the Inspiring Allison Eden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Eden.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started making glass mosaics as a hobby while in college at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC –
I was a fashion design major and loved art, interior design, and fashion and wanted to mold them all together to create art for the interior design industry that was a signature style.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not always been a smooth ride – starting a business has big ups and downs and you need to work through the lows and learn from all your mistakes – actually making mistakes isn’t bad – it’s how you deal with them and learn from them.

The struggles are real – in my business I need to always create and sometimes, I am so tired I can’t find inspiration anywhere and then, all of a sudden, a burst of creativity comes and that is when a masterpiece is created – believe in yourself even when others don’t- don’t ever give up and always do what you love – if you love it – it does not work.

what should we know about Allison Eden Studios? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Allison Eden Studios is an art house that specializes in custom glass mosaic art, fabric, carpet, and clothing all inspired by our signature pop art glass mosaics

For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
Women are a strong breed – I have never felt any challenges in the workplace as a woman – if I want something – I go for it and forge ahead – I never take no for an answer and don’t think it matters if you are a man or a woman – if you work hard, you will make it! If you think you are oppressed, then you will use it as a band-aid and u will concentrate on the world not being fair – the world is not fair – you make your own destiny.
