Conversations with the Inspiring Ayesha Ophelia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayesha Ophelia.

Ayesha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The Girlfriend Manifesto began in the midst of a lot of personal turmoil in my life. My Mom was very ill, I was changing careers and my marriage was in the process of changing. I knew I needed connection with women. It has always been the most healing force in my life. The name came to me with a plan for a party. I would invite women I knew and women I admired to a sister circle. We made delicious food, plans on how to support one another, and every woman pulled me aside that night to tell me how good they felt in a safe space to be vulnerable and open. That night turned into a website, blog, and social media presence. Five years later, I have built a coaching practice, a worldwide audience, and not a day goes by that I don’t get a letter from a woman who has been touched or changed by one of the four pillars of The Girlfriend Manifesto. Sisterhood, self-love, adventure, and spirituality are what changed my life and what I want to offer to women everywhere.

Has it been a smooth road?
The journey to becoming won’t ever be totally smooth. The bumps are created to entice a certain skill or ability that would stay latent if everything was easy. My road to this level of independence and ability to create was harrowing but fruitful. Don’t give up when something seems to be going wrong or taking you on a detour. Trust the bumps. Trust the hard stuff. Surround yourself with people who will stand firm as life changes around you.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Girlfriend Manifesto story. Tell us more about it.
I do women’s healing work as an intuitive coach, reiki master, newly certified hypnosis guide, as well as a well versed creative. I just launched an affordable monthly membership called Constellation which I am very proud of. My unique brand of healing is different because I have always understood intuitively how to harness my varied gifts into one unique brand which is The Girlfriend Manifesto.

Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
I think the fear of being seen or failing is keeping a genius woman silent. We must all abandon perfection to be heard. My industry is saturated and sometimes it feels like everyone knows something you don’t. My purpose is to share my authentic viewpoint while holding space for women to find their own power within it.
