Conversations with the Inspiring Isha Cabrera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isha Cabrera.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been intrigued by far off lands and different destinations around the world. I grew up watching some amazing shows on the Travel Channel like Samantha Brown’s “Passport to Europe” and Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations”. They encouraged me to look beyond the daily life and into ways people around the world live. As an adult, I have answered to this calling and now, I’m slowly, but surely making my way around the world. I learn so much while I travel, not only about the destination, culture, and people, but also about myself. I love that I can share my adventures and knowledge with those interested in travel.

Has it been a smooth road?
This is a newer road for me, but it’s something that truly feeds my soul. The main obstacle in creating a platform where I can share my experiences has been prioritizing for me. However, the one thing I kept in mind was my drive to create my travel blog. Although I work full-time, I wanted to do this for myself. Although I am usually tired after a long week of work, I made time to work on my blog because if something is that important to you, you make time for it no matter what.

Some things that have helped me in my journey are to not make excuses, creating a timeline, and visualizing how I would feel once my blog is where I want it to be. I feel that visualizing your desired outcome awakens a certain drive for your goal. My biggest advice to someone starting their own journey is to just go for it. I have spent a lot of time thinking what I wanted to do. One day, I just went for it, bought a domain name, and started working on my blog. That’s when my dreams and thought started becoming reality.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into your business story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a full time copywriter in San Diego. My job influenced me to create something that special to me. I recently launched my blog and will continue to develop it, and share my travel adventures on it.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I’ve always loved to explore. I remember a few family trips in India and in California. My love for exploring new places has definitely stayed with me.
