Conversations with the Inspiring Tiffany Schrade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Schrade.

Tiffany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started making jewelry because I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so out of frustration, I headed to the art supply store and started messing around with materials and making my own jewelry. Friends started to notice and ask me where I was getting my jewelry, I told them I made it and requests started organically flowing in. From there, I started doing house parties and lots of custom work by way of referrals. I really want people to have exactly what it is that feels just right for them; something special and meaningful! I expanded into custom bridal jewelry, which has been really fun! Giving brides exactly what they want, taking out the stress of having to search for it and creating unique personalized gifts for their bridesmaids. Recently, T.Leah Designs has dipped into the healing energy of crystals; designing custom meditation malas and other such pieces with a focus on intention and well being. This is the Mind Your Chakras line which is a component of my other passion…

Mind Your Chakras
I’ve had a long history in the health and wellness industry, from personal training, to yoga, meditation, reiki and other healing modalities. It’s been a long journey of really experiencing each of these phases in my life, being humbly guided down the path of each. I recently launched Mind Your Chakras, which brings all of my experience together in one place where people can go to start learning how to manage their lives from a holistic perspective to find more peace and well being.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Neither of these projects have been smooth!!! There have been moments of being in a flow where things just worked out and felt right, but they have been sprinkled only here and there and few and far, between on this long road. Yet small as they may be, they are important and necessary reminders that the struggle is WORTH it!

I have, for the past 15 years, juggled 2-5 jobs at a time just to keep the dream alive! Some of them necessary evils to keep a roof over my head and food in my mouth. Others jobs, I needed to expand my knowledge of what it is I want to create from these businesses. I very recently took a leap of faith and quit a very stable job that got to a point, where that job was taking too much from me energetically and bleeding into my creativity and passion for what my vision is. The decision was challenging, terrifying, exciting and full of doubt and hope all at the same time, but most importantly, necessary! I’m not saying quit your day job! Just be so aware of yourself of when the times are correct to make different decisions.

The journey has been riddled with, fear, self doubt, anxiety, loneliness, isolation, etc. but I truly believe, when viewed as such, these feelings are our greatest teachers and they will lead us to our greatest rewards, if we embrace what their presence on this journey means!

My advice it so stay focussed, become one with your passion, breath life into, work hard, then work a little bit harder, stay open and flexible, reach out when you need help to refocus, don’t ever lose sight of your heart!

what should we know about T.Leah Designs & Mind Your Chakras? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
T.Leah Designs
I make handmade custom jewelry. I love to create and see a vision become a reality; in this case, a beautiful accessory! I want to people to wear my jewelry and feel beautiful, confident and bold. Or, to receive it as a gift that has meaning to them. I want brides to not have to stress about going on the hunt to find the perfect fit of jewelry for their big day. I want people to use a meditation mala and find peace and serenity! It makes me so happy to create joy for someone with jewelry pieces that have intention and a personalized touch.

Mind Your Chakras
My passion for health and wellness runs deep. I truly believe, as humans, we are meant to live joyfully and peacefully, but the chaos of life can sometimes make it feel that this is not how life is meant to be. I truly believe that understanding this life begins by understanding ourselves, deeply. Then, all the external things change and life starts to feel like it falls in the right place or your physical or emotional body feels better. Mind Your Chakras was created to help people view health and well being from a different perspective. I gain so much joy from seeing people have breakthroughs and taking their lives back into their own hands. We house all the knowledge we need inside, we just need to learn to tap into it! My goal is to assist that process.

Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
My best advice is to stay open and flexible. Don’t be so hard, set on expectations you’ve set that you can’t see a better opportunity that might come along. If you’re focusing so hard on one thing that you think is the right thing, you might actually miss what will best serve you. I do believe the things we need will show up but sometimes, we can get very stubborn about it being one way (I have certainly battled this many times), so stay as open minded as possible and test experiences. You may end up surprised by something you hadn’t thought of!
