Conversations with the Inspiring TKay Jaso

Today we’d like to introduce you to TKay Jaso.

TKay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible because I feel like I have lived quite a few lives prior to having kids, then kept changing hats after having kids. In short, I have a Master’s degree in Professional Communications, started my Ph.D., and taught an upper division communication course. I then switched gears to teaching and managing STEM-based programs throughout the Orange County area for elementary students. I found out I was pregnant with our third child and started working for my husband’s creative agency, Control Forever. I am the head editor for the digital magazine,, and I run a podcast within the network called LIVE FOREVER with my partner, Vix. We basically keep it real as moms in the industry and have the most fun being ourselves.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road — chasing your dreams while being a mom is never as easy as it may seem. It is a humbling experience because you have to be selfless, put yourself last, and work weird hours. You are always overwhelmed, but the stress is definitely worth it to see your brand grow and watch your kids turn into independent, loving human beings. It’s hard to make sacrifices, however, just keep telling yourself it will all work out in the end. If you need to call your girls and vent, do it… if you need to go lock yourself in your room to hide from the kids to breathe for a second, then do it… and if you need to take time for yourself for self-care (whatever that may be for you), then figure out how to get that done because that’s the only way you are going to be a good mom, etc. I have three kids, and I have to plan everything out so specifically because that’s the only way anything gets accomplished. My advice is to make a schedule every day and highlight the most important goals you wish to accomplish for that day; it’s the best way to not give up on your end goal. I seriously swear by time batching!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into LIVE FOREVER story. Tell us more about it.
I am proud of LIVE FOREVER because it is a cool space for people to get real and be themselves. I started the journey with another good friend of mine, and she had to step away for personal reasons. LF was rebranded with Vix, and we hit the ground running as two moms. Here is a little about us: You think you know, but you have no idea. Welcome to LIVE FOREVER hosted by TKay Jaso and Victoria McGrath. Two moms in “the industry” who find out about the real lives of social media influencers and people doing influential things on social media and otherwise. We shine a light on the humanity behind the people whose lives revolve around an image, showcasing their true stories. We learn about the journey that may have had bumps along the way, to finding their influential success, and how they keep it together behind-the-scenes. We bring our listeners inspirational, relatable stories, AS WELL as our favorite tips, tricks, and products from brands we love and want you to love too! Tune in for giveaways, discount codes, and to find out how everyone is connected to EACH OTHER.

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
The woman who has inspired me the most in my life is my beautiful mom. She is without a doubt the strongest, smartest, and self-sacrificing woman I have ever met. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her, and I truly owe her my success. She has taught me how to be an efficient businesswoman, a compassionate human being, and a mom who would go to the extremes for their children. My mom is my true hero, and I look up to her every day.
