Today we’d like to introduce you to Alli Ward.
Hi Alli, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Celebrating the HAPPY and positivity in every day has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I went to school for, and spent the first 15 years of my career as a skilled analyst, statistician and computer programmer… Doesn’t really scream creativity, but I truly loved my career.
MadewithHappy.com started in its infant form in 2010 as a way to document our everyday life and share pictures of our young kids to our family across the US. It quickly became my creativity outlet as I started to share crafts, home DIY Projects, parties, and recipes I loved. After a few large brands started to take notice and the traffic to my site started to increase, I made the jump to full-time blogging in 2014. In the past 7 years, I have been blessed to collaborate with some incredible brands (Disney, Potterybarn Kids, and HP to name a few) as well as create an incredible website that I am very proud of. I love that I get to use my creativity every day, but also my business, computer, and analytical background to run the business side.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every road has its bumps and mine for sure has had its struggles. After a personal loss in 2017, I wasn’t sure I would continue with MadewithHappy and didn’t do much with it for over a year. After some soul searching and really focusing on what I wanted for the site, I decided to turn it around and it has been an incredible couple of years of growth and focus.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m the lead HAPPY maker behind Made with HAPPY, a creative lifestyle blog in the pursuit of all things HAPPY.
At Made with Happy, we are obsessed with all things Crafts, DIY, Entertaining and Travel, and are blessed we get to share our colorful passions with our readers. From traveling the world with my family to making easy kids crafts, simple DIY projects, and fun appetizers we are sharing how to celebrate HAPPY every day.
What makes me the most proud is knowing that I am making an impact. This past year I received a picture from small village in Indonesia where their kids all made one of my crafts and were playing with them. My heart almost burst with pride seeing those sweet HAPPY children.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I have deep love affair with our city. I cannot imagine raising my children any other place. I love the weather, the people, and the culture here. I do not love the added traffic during the Summer.
