Conversations with Don Luxe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Don Luxe.

Hi Don, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our name is Don Luxe, an alternative rock band from the Inland Empire of California. Originally the band was formed by Luke Sawyer (Lead Vocalist) and Juan Zermeno when they were invited to open for a show. After the excitement of their first performance, they recruited Guillermo Jaime (Keys) to play bass and the three began to compose, record, and perform their music. In 2020 Juan left to pursue his own career which is when Ciara De Alba (Drums) had the opportunity to join the band after meeting Luke at the music video shoot for our song “Suddenly.” The most recent addition to our family is Andre Campos (Bass) who had actually been Ciara’s coworker and heard that the band was in need of a bassist. Since assembling this team we’ve been working tirelessly to establish a real community with our fans through our music, performances, and visuals.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path to where we’re at today was not easy and we don’t expect it to get easier. Aside from the challenges of the music industry we are constantly fighting against stresses in our personal lives, day jobs, and our overall health. We also recently lost our recording studio and practice space, forcing us to practice in Andre’s garage. Despite all of these obstacles, we know that the only way to succeed is to have full faith and trust in each other and continue doing our parts to make it further in this industry.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think we’re most proud of two things: our live shows and our visuals. When we perform live there’s an energy that gets passed from the crowd to us and vice versa that makes the entire experience feel euphoric. Our visuals are also something that we put a heavy focus on to make sure they’re the best representation of us as a band. They’re really an opportunity to showcase each member’s creative talent outside of the music. If you haven’t already seen them we recommend watching the videos for “Don’t Waste,” “Charlie Brown,” and “Suddenly,” they’re sure to make your jaw drop.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most for us is that everyone in the band grows together not only in our careers but also on a personal level. Being able to find success in this industry will require a lot of learning and having to deal with hard situations; but as long as we have each other’s backs, cherish the good times, and push each other to try new things I think we’ll all be happy.
