Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Ross.
Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been able to travel and live outside of the US many times, and because of that, I have been introduced to flavors that identify cultures. I always try to spend time in the kitchen with local women and learn how to use what grows naturally in their area that creates these flavors that we all love. Flavors with no fillers, no extra chemical preservatives… just the seeds, roots, leaves, and nuts that create amazing blends. I wanted to offer that clean living to my family, eliminate some unnecessary “ flavors” from their diet and also bring those amazing blends to my friend’s kitchens in a safe, clean and healthy way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have been my biggest struggle. Not having the confidence to really do it. I always thought of doing this but figured someone else would do it better. So I put it off for a long time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make small batch spice blends using as much locally grown organic produce as possible. Each blend has the needed basic spices and herbs for any recipe. All filler-free, gluten-free, clean blends. When I see a friend licking their blend off their fingers, I know I’ve done a good job. I’m proud that I have kept true to what I wanted to do and that friends with special diet restrictions can come to me with confidence that my products are clean and any blend can be altered to suit their needs.
What does success mean to you?
Success is sitting back and smiling about what you just accomplished with no guilt about how you got there.
