Conversations with Ladie Vivian Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ladie Vivian Garcia.

Hi Ladie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

Hello everyone! My name is Ladie Vivian I was born in Utah and raised in Mexico. I am the oldest of 5, 3 boys and 2 girls. After 7 years crossing the border of Tijuana-San Diego for school and work, I finally moved to San Diego and I had an opportunity to open up my first business with my youngest brother Joaquin. We opened a Mexican Food Truck. Honestly, without knowing much about the business we challenged ourselves and made it count! Unfortunately, after 10 months of hard work and many new experiences as entrepreneurs, the pandemic hit and we closed the business. I remember one day during March 2020; I was brainstorming about businesses that I could see myself doing and right after I started meditating and asking God what path should I take. Well, I just let him lead my way. Then I told my parents about the business idea I had. I was still doubting and lacking self-confidence. Literally stuck in my own thoughts and comfort zone. So, I travelled by myself for the first time. I had an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it! I reconnected with my spiritual, physical, and mental health. However, when I got back home, I decided to start Lua Events right away. I was inspired by one of my mentors, my dear Mother. She is an interior designer and she inspires me so much. I finally began by doing a photoshoot of a luxury picnic set up with a teepee and I also enrolled in an online course for event planning. I started designing and planning more intimate-personalized events. So far, I am very grateful for my accomplishments and blessed with great projects for these upcoming months. I am very outgoing and an avid traveler. I absolutely love experiencing blissful moments. Therefore, I love the idea of creating a beautiful and unique experience for every client through Lua Events.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. But it’s been definitely worth the risk of continuing even though I’ve almost had to quit my business Lua Events to work as an Event Coordinator Assistant a few months ago. Fortunately, being faithful and with the right mentorship from my family and God. I didn’t quit. I started to lose focus and began to stress because I wasn’t taking care of myself well enough. Now, I can proudly say that phase of self-neglect is over. I’ve turned the page in my book, learned maturity in different aspects of myself and now surround myself with more business-minded people that have helped me with my personal growth and knowledge.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an event planner and coordinator. Investing all my savings to pursue a dream that became reality back in 2020. I’m known for taking action rather than speaking. I learn and practice every day by innovating event designs. I always encourage myself to do my best until I make sure my client’s event is done as they visualized it. Therefore, I can proudly say that I consider myself a little perfectionist when it comes to being creative.
What matters most to you?
My wellbeing; it matters the most to me because every aspect of your life influences your state of wellbeing. It’s a complex combination of a person’s physical, mental, emotional, and social health factors. To me, my well-being is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction, therefore I encourage myself to appease my well-being.
