Conversations with Letizia Jacko

Today we’d like to introduce you to Letizia Jacko.

Hi Letizia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since I was little, I’ve always enjoyed acting, playing a part, and being able to play the game of being another person. It has always been a way to have fun, entertain others, and especially escape from reality.

I did some amateur stuff until I graduated from High School.

Then, I studied and graduated from an Acting and Performing Arts Academy.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being far from home to study wasn’t that easy, also it was very expensive! But that wasn’t the worst part.

I suffer from chronic migraine since 2018 and that makes everything look harder… Unfortunately, it has a lot of impact on my time and health situation in general.

I have missed out on so many fun things because the pain is so bad that I can’t do anything, eating and sleeping are hard things to do too. I liked to dance and run and now they seem impossible things since I get tired easily, my pressure rises and I feel dizzy… But my work requires a bit of all this. Concentration and memory are fundamental…so my brain is constantly under pressure!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

As an actress an model, I have to audition a lot before I get a job. But sometimes opportunities knocked on my door.
Right now I take part in music videos, I shoot for clothing stores and fashion projects.

I am known for my capability to look like completely another person, I blend with the character that I chose to play like a chamaleon. I always try to create outfits and make-up that impress people.

I am a content creator on Instagram, I share my work, photoshoots and many things that I find interesting that include more than one artistic field.

I am collaborating with brands, mostly fashion ones… so I have to build what I got in mind and publish on social networks.

The work behind every picture is insane but I have fun with it.  I also help many people make social content because they are amazed by mine. (I try to keep my feed pleasing to the eye!)

I’m also training to express myself only with my voice providing voice-over recordings (in multiple languages) and introducing local events. People say I’m funny! So I always try to stay in touch with my community hoping to bring them a smile.

I love doing all this stuff… I think that there is no need to mark yourself with only one thing, you can experiment working with art and fashion, music, CGI and other things you like, connecting them, creating something innovative on the intersection of it all.

Multidisciplinary artists give me high five!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Oh that I’m sweet and friendly ahah because when people see me at first glance think that I’m very serious and grumpy… maybe it’s because I have my attention always focused. I’m a curious person, that’s the word I would choose to describe me. I like to challenge myself and go out of my comfort zone. I always try to learn something new, sometimes on my own, the last thing was playing the ukulele! I love listening to music, it makes me happy and very often motivates me and gives me energy. I literally listen to any kind of music. I created so many playlists on Spotify! I can’t believe that the one that has the saddest and most emotional songs contains more than 100 hours of songs in total but that says a lot about my personality. Maybe sometimes I hurt myself but I ALWAYS CHOOSE LOVE.
That’s what my biggest inspiration, Harry Styles, would say. He made me who I am somehow so I am extremely grateful to him. Believe me or not, thanks to this man I also learned crochet (this was the result of being grounded at home during the pandemic lockdown for sure, but that cardigan was ICONIC, so I had to do it).
