Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Anderson.
Hi Sam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always loved color and art.
I ended up studying art in college and continued to take drawing classes whenever I could… My dad is a serial entrepreneur and I definitely inherited my love of business from him. And after college, I quickly fell into an artist representation business.
The idea for Artrooms began while working with art collectors. I noticed that some clients would connect with a piece in real life (or digitally) but they would really struggle with the next step. How to envision how the art would actually look in their room. Or one partner could totally envision the art on their walls but the other just couldn’t.
Both of these scenarios would often result in no sale. Or a very delayed sale. As artists and art professionals, we often forget our collectors are often not as visual as we are. They don’t just ‘see it” and often need extra visual support!
Before Artrooms the primary option was to follow up, request room photos (and hope the clients would send them), and then painstakingly Photoshop the art into the image. A time-consuming process!
Although I never thought I would work in tech, five years ago I decided to take the leap and create Artrooms app.
Artrooms app provides artists with a quick easy tool to increase engagement, sell more art and help their collectors.
From their Apple or Android device artists can superimpose, frame, and light their art in an ever-evolving collection of gorgeous realistic interior images. Their curated rooms can be easily shared via text, email, or social media.
I love helping artists increase their visibility and sales. Combining my passions for art and business for over 20 years has ensured that my work is a dream come true!
Five years later, one of the greatest joys has been the amazing global community of Artrooms app artists. They connect and support one another via Artrooms’ social media on a daily basis. And many write to us to share they made the sale using Artrooms. Or that being featured on Artrooms social media connected them with a new collector… It makes our team’s day to know that Artrooms is such a useful tool for artists.
And the talent of artists who use Artrooms is incredible. Take a look at Artrooms’ Instagram page @artroomsapp and be inspired!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This is my third business but my first business in the tech space. I’ve learned that matter how talented the development team, high-quality product you create or how rigorous the testing, apps in generally are pretty finicky. They have a higher potential for bugs and glitches than many other types of software.
I used to hyperventilate and panic hard when these bugs would occur. It wasn’t very good at keeping my cortisol levels balanced! I’ve learned to meditate which has been a game-changer..and I journal three pages most mornings to get the chatter out of my head.
Now more often than not when a bug pops up, I just keep breathing and tell myself everything is figureoutable… It’s just another day in the tech!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work as an app developer in the fine art space is always solution and future-oriented. Our focus at Artrooms app is the emerging and established artist… How can we save artiststime to make sharing and selling their art easier?
I feel so lucky that Artrooms app combines two passions I’ve had for over 25 plus years: to support artists to increase their art sales and create things that help and inspire others.
When artists from all over the world share that Artrooms improves their art sales by making their art look fantastic our team is so happy. It’s the why I started the app. And also, why our team is so committed and inspired to keep the Artrooms app experience high quality and continually provide artists with fresh and easy ways to present their art.
We’re really proud of how well the app functions and that the artists who use Artrooms truly love it. We’re very grateful to our loyal artist community and have over 500++ five start reviews.
One of the biggest joys that’s grown out of Artrooms is the incredible global artist community who use the app daily. They are so supportive of one another. And the art they create daily via Artrooms and share on social media is so gorgeous and inspiring. Whether you’re an artist, collector, or art lover, if you need a quick pick me up, check out Artrooms App’s Instagram page!
