Daily Inspiration: Meet Alfredo Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alfredo Lopez.

Hi Alfredo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started out doing photography after a pretty bad divorce. I was finically crippled and was homeless for about 8 months. I started looking at free things to do in my spare time and when I would have my kids. I found out Mobile Photography was a thing so I started on my iPhone. Then the inquires started pouring in.

Finally, after getting on my feet and moving in with my cousin Morrel, I invested 1400 in a camera. 2 months later, it paid its self off and I sold it. Then took out another loan for 5000 and upgraded to a pro camera and now I’m here.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The hardest thing to me was learning the camera and learning how to shoot in the dark.

I’d also say making a choice to invest in myself not knowing how it was going to turn out.

I think all of it came to me naturally because I love creating and capturing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Well, I’m known for my boudoir and nightlife photos. I personally love to shoot anything and always want a challenge to increase my bag of trades.

I think I’m most proud of is never losing my passion, And not letting money dictate who I work with. I’m proud to be able to work with everyone even if the cash isn’t always there.

What sets me apart is my next day returns on pictures and having the best deals possible. I also feel my work is subject specific and that makes the photos so much more alive and meaningful. I feel like I’m never doing the same thing and people appreciate it.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
A lot of people don’t know I’m in the navy and still on active duty and about to go on year 11.

People don’t know I’ve been officially shooting photography for about 8 months. They always think I’ve been doing it for years.

People don’t know I self-taught myself and never went to school for it.
