Exploring Life & Business with Leilani Corpis of Leilani Kyrie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leilani Kyrie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Fashion has always been a part of my life. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed. I had countless Barbies with their own clothes and accessories, and I’d spend entire days dressing them up in different outfits.

My family quickly caught on to my passion; my mom bought me my first sewing machine and taught me how to sew. (Fun fact, I still have and use it to this day!) And my grandpa gifted me a gorgeous sketchbook where I started to create my own fashion designs.

Once college came around, I did what any person would do; I went to FIDM to become a Fashion Designer. I had big dreams! I wanted to have my own clothing line and to partner with Human Trafficking to help end it.

Long story short that wasn’t the path that I took. When I was in school, I got married and my dreams changed into me wanting to become a mom, and running a fashion business became less important to me.

My path changed again…

When I was 25, we divorced, and that completely turned my “I’ve done everything right” kind of life upside down. Everything I thought I knew, I began to question: my relationship with God, my values, and everything that I believed in.

Fast forward to me in my thirties; I was divorced, living with roommates, working a job that didn’t bring me joy, was living paycheck to paycheck, and was constantly broke because I was partying all the time. I was feeling bad about myself. I didn’t feel good enough, valued, or seen. I was also struggling with abandonment issues and people-pleasing. So much so, I pushed my own wants and needs aside just so I can fit in or feel accepted. I knew I wanted to do more with my life and something with fashion, but I had no idea what!

So, I made it my mission to do the inner work. I read all the books; I listened to all the podcasts; I let go of all my friends who didn’t align with the healthy life that I wanted; I invested LOTS of money into coaches to help me find my way and to help me heal my heart.

Through everything, I finally realized how I can change women’s lives through fashion. I’ve always had a knack for styling, and it dawned on me that I can help change women’s views of themselves from the inside out using all the tools that I have acquired and learned throughout my life.

Which brings me to present day. Just as any entrepreneur, I’ve dedicated countless hours to building my business and brand while having a full-time job. It’s hard work, but I am beyond grateful for the place that I am in my life. I have learned to forgive everyone, including myself, and let go of all the pain that was poisoning me, and am happy to say that I am genuinely living a life full of purpose, which brings me so much fulfillment. Being a personal stylist & confidence coach is my gift to the world to help heal women from the inside out. So, it is my mission to be the world’s most compassionate personal stylist by leading with a serving heart and teaching self-love to the discouraged, showing women that they can be empowered to be the best version of themselves from the inside out.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has anyone ever said it’s been easy? Haha It hasn’t been a smooth road at all, but I am also grateful for that because I’ve learned so much more because of the extra hurdles that I’ve had to go through. For a large part of the beginning, I was working with a business coach, and she helped me realize that I was addicted to working and stress because the pressure made me feel like I was good enough, and it made me feel productive. So, even I have to revisit the tools that I learned in my self-love journey and reapply them to areas I didn’t know were still hurting. I’ve had to re-establish my boundaries for myself and my business and remember one of my values, balance. And just like anything in life, I still have my ups and downs, but now I have all the tools to help me through the tough times.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Personal Stylist & Confidence Coach for women of all shapes and sizes. I believe that if we learn to love and accept ourselves from the inside out with proper tools and skills, we can be empowered to be the best version of ourselves in every area of our lives. We show up better, we feel better, we’re better people to those around us, and we’re overall happier and at peace within.

I think what sets me apart from others is my serving heart and my compassion for the disheartened. Most of my clients are women who have gained weight, either through the pandemic or after having kids, and they don’t know how to dress for their new body type. They feel totally frustrated and lost. I’m also a very genuine, authentic, and friendly person and easy to get along with. So, I connect with my clients really well and am lighthearted, so my clients can really sense that when I am working with them.

I’m most proud of truly being myself and exemplifying that through my brand. I think my clients resonate with my realness and enjoy my lightheartedness.

I offer many types of services that I have created to help women with specific needs. For example, I have services to help edit your closet or to help you come up with an outfit for a trip or job interview, and the biggest is my Stylist & Confidence Masterplan which is the total makeover from the inside out. No session is alike, and it’s really tailored to the individual and their needs. It’s great because it is very personalized.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
Hands down best book I have read is Atomic Habits by James Clear. That book was a life changer for me in my personal life and my business. There are so many practical tools that are so easy & magical to implement in your life because they really work!

The water app is my favorite, haha It’s an app that reminds you to drink water, and I also use it to get up and stretch and do a quick walk around (“habit stacking” something I learned in Atomic Habits).

I have 3 podcasts that I love and listen to every day: Melissa Ambrosini. She is the epitome of self-love, The Model Health Show I love for health and fitness, and Jay Shetty for life and business.
