Meet Raluca Maria Coroban

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raluca Maria Coroban.

Hi Raluca Maria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am Raluca Maria Coroban, and I’ve been running my own lifestyle company for a few years. First out of NYC and now out of San Diego. My brand is Rayluca and it was born from my own personal journey. I was born and raised in a small town of about 2000 people in Romania, and five years ago, I left it all behind to move to NYC to marry my husband. The one word that defines my journey is a transformation in all sorts of ways. Rayluca is based on my name. However, I inserted a ray of light and positivity in the name, a trait that I have fostered along with my transformation. Moving into the heart of the busiest cities in the world made me feel a little disheartened, lonely and lost. I struggled to find my balance, both mentally and physically, and after many years of looking outside, I have realized that I need to look within myself to find the way. Rayluca goes beyond fitness and nutrition. It aims for transformation. My company’s goal is to inspire a healing transformation for the mind, body, and spirit.

And because I believe that one should fully own their journey and lessons, I have learned how to work with fabrics and designs and have personally created activewear available in a wide variety of colors, unique patterns, and prints. The pieces I’ve created are meant to enhance each person’s spirit and healthy habits so that they can achieve all that they are capable of. I hope that Rayluca inspires your transformation, too. My personal journey continues on, and in the beginning of 2021, in spite of a world pandemic, I moved to San Diego to see for myself what people meant by the Californian vibe. This move has inspired addition to my brand, and I launched my healthy treats. These are vegan and refined sugar-free treats, and I am thrilled to make them available at the farmers market in San Diego starting May 29th. Stop by to say hi…

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting the business while having a full-time job incorporate. Balancing my personal and professional life, learning everything from scratch and wearing multiple hats. These are just a few of the struggles that I have been through, as most entrepreneurs out there are facing. I have read about successful people who have started their own businesses, so I prepared myself mentally and emotionally to go through a lot of challenges. I have read that no amount of reading allows entrepreneurs to take any shortcuts. I have made mistakes and learned a lot and in the process, and as a result of this, I have built a stronger and more ambitious version of myself. My brand’s vision and mission give me the power to move forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Rayluca is so much more than just an athletic apparel brand; it is a lifestyle company that helps people embrace total transformation. My mission is to fuel the body, mind, and soul with healthy premium products and genuine inspiration. Rayluca helps tap into meaningful rituals that uplift and support a healthy lifestyle.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My favorite thing is to talk about what helps me do my best in life. 🙂 Between my corporate job and my business, I have a full schedule. I had to develop a routine to help support me achieve my goals and dreams. The main thing that keeps me grounded is meditation. No matter how busy I am, I find 20 minutes in the morning to share my gratitude and plan my day ahead. I squeeze at least one hour per day for my work out and I try to walk daily for at least 15 minutes, especially now that I am in sunny San Diego. I also love Tony Robbins’ podcasts, and one of my favorite books that really made an impact in my life is: “The fifth agreement” by Din Miguel Ruiz.
