Hidden Gems: Meet Cassie Dominach of Sage Haven

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Dominach.

Hi Cassie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When I was 23 years old, I packed up my Mazda 3 and drove across the country from New Jersey to move to San Diego. I had no idea what the plan was once I got there, but I knew that I was in for a new adventure. I spent the first two years exploring the city and the west coast, working as a bartender, but soon realized that I wanted to begin a new career path. I knew that I wanted to do something in the wellness realm that could really help and impact people, but I wasn’t sure just what that would be.

As I became open to the idea of a new path, Pacific College of Health & Science (PCHS) kept popping up EVERYWHERE. Within the span of two weeks, I had met three students, a recent graduate, and an acupuncturist who all encouraged me to go check out the program. At this point, I decided to call the school and go check out the campus. After touring the school and learning about the curriculum, I decided that I was going to go for it and began my first term two weeks later.

I graduated from PCHS in December 2020 with a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine and a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. In March 2021, I became a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California and in June 2021, I opened my private practice, Sage Haven, located in Pacific Beach.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Medical school definitely wasn’t easy, but I am so grateful that I listened to the very tiny voice deep inside of me that said, “just go for it… this is who you are supposed to be.” During the four-year doctorate, I worked anywhere from 1-3 jobs at a time while completing the coursework full time. Looking back, I was definitely more exhausted than I thought, but what helped me get through was keeping the end goal in mind.

It was my dream to master the craft of acupuncture and Chinese medicine and be able to use this skill set to help heal others and empower people to become the healthiest and highest versions of themselves. I knew that the long nights of studying would pay off and that all of my hard work would be worth it in end to be able to share this medicine with my community and the world.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Sage Haven is an acupuncture clinic and holistic spa that is located in Pacific Beach.

Sage Haven is a safe space to transform into the highest version of yourself. A place where we understand that health is the highest form of wealth, and we work together to help you achieve optimal wellness and restoration. We offer individualized holistic wellness treatments that integrate Eastern and Western medicine. From crystal healing combined with acupuncture to personalized botanical medicine, we craft each individual’s treatment experience with a mindful and intuitive approach.

Our services include Acupuncture, Cosmetic Acupuncture, Holistic Microneedling, Facial Gua Sha, Facial Cupping, Glass Fire Cupping, Herbal Medicine, Nutritional Therapy, and LED Light Therapy.

Some of the most common conditions that our clients seek treatment for are Anxiety, Insomnia, Stress Relief, Digestive Conditions, Migraines, Menstrual Disorders, and Pain Relief.

We also specialize in holistic aesthetics, offering Cosmetic Acupuncture and Microneedling. Cosmetic acupuncture is an all-natural and non-toxic minimally invasive procedure that reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves facial elasticity, tones and sculpts facial muscles, and brightens and evens the complexion. This is an amazing option for those who are looking to look and feel their best, naturally.

The Acu Facial is one of our most popular services, which includes facial and body acupuncture points to nourish the skin from the inside out. LED Light therapy and crystal therapy are included to enhance the experience. Next, facial cupping or facial gua sha with handmade botanical facial oil is performed. By combining these modalities, we are able to specifically target lymphatic drainage, sculpting, and collagen stimulation in one relaxing and integrative session.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I really feel that there is a reason why so many people are being drawn to Chinese medicine and holistic modalities now more than ever. People are noticing that our healthcare system is more of a “sick care” system and that in Western medicine, we are often just putting band-aids on symptoms instead of finding the root of what is causing them.

As we shift toward more collective consciousness, we want to find out why these diseases and symptoms are occurring and how we can correct them. We want to become the highest and healthiest versions of ourselves, and Chinese Medicine is so amazing because it helps you do just that. I am so grateful to be a part of this medicine and for each person who chooses me to be a part of their healing journey.
