Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Price.
Hi Natalie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Natalie Goessmann Price. I came from the southern island of the Philippines called Mindanao. I grew up in a place where opportunity is hard to find. When I was 21 years old, I migrated here in the U.S. At that time, I didn’t know how to speak English well and because of that it was a struggle and total culture shock.
I was bullied by a lot of people because of where I came from and for my accent when I spoke. After a full day’s work, I would go home in tears with all the notes I had taken throughout the day from being insulted, mocked, and laughed at so I can learn how to speak fluently and act according to everyone’s expectations.
I used humility to my advantage to learn and to better myself. I said to myself, I may be a girl from a province, that lived a provincial life, but I also know I can prove to myself and others I am more than this. I worked in various fields and industries, but I had not found my passion. One day, 12 years ago I learned about eBay, Amazon, and how to sell online. I tried it just for fun, a hobby. I sooner learned that I could make money from it but since I didn’t have capital to invest in a business, I marketed my experience and used it as a leverage to get paid more.
A company in the Jewelry district in downtown San Diego hired me to help them with their online presence. From that point forward, my knowledge of online sales and business grew. I was recruited by a few companies in San Diego to manage their online business and have proven time and time again by growing their revenues exponentially into the millions. Despite my success while managing an international corporate Brand in San Diego, I was let go.
It was one of the most heartbreaking times of my life. I was lost and forgot where I started. Feeling hopeless after struggling to reach every subsequent goal, I was unsure of what was next if anything. If not for others that had been watching from a distance and encouraging me to break away and start my own venture, I may not have had the courage to risk the small amount of capital that I had accumulated.
In August 2019, I was starting from the ground just like I had 12 years ago but I had the experience and proven performance to take my new company from 5 figures in the first month to 7 figures in 15 months. Working for myself has allowed me to buy a house for my family, have more time with my kids and my husband, and to travel anytime, anywhere. The success of the business allowed me to launch a second business that will be introduced before the holiday.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has been a lot of challenges especially selling on Amazon. Competitors are brutal and ruin your reputation to get ahead by leaving unverified reviews on the products you sell. One of the hardest things is learning all the policies and guidelines set by each online platform which are constantly changing.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
