Today we’d like to introduce you to Nichole Bolden.
Hi Nichole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The story of Kind Mind Wellness started with a personal need to relieve this deep feeling of complicated grief inside. In that journey, I realized it was not just grief and that I had opened pandora’s box that stored a lifetime of trauma, fears, and unmet goals. Through my own walk, I realized I could heal and exceed the goals set. Additionally, I realized there is a great need in our communities for mental health options that are less clinical and more holistic, which is why this is a private holistic practice rather than a clinically licensed firm. I want others to experience the modalities that made such a great personal impact that I would have never considered or had knowledge of. Kind Mind Wellness was birthed out of the desire to share that peace is for everyone and possible even amongst the chaos in life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always challenges to starting a company and the unknown. For me, it was working through the self-doubt that crept in at times. The logistics and education were the easy parts. It was like a confidence roller coaster. When I think back about the road, I am thankful for the struggle, both personally and professionally; it has resulted in healthy resilience, changes in my own cognitions, and opportunities for community outreach.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Kind Mind Wellness is a private holistic organization that promotes modalities that aide in healing, relaxation, and performance expansion. Brainspotting and Mindfulness Life coaching are the main modalities used to obtain the tailored client goals either in conjunction with each other or separately. Additionally, we promote an importance of true relaxation for the body and offer private yin, restorative, and nidra style yoga, mindfulness, sound therapy and in the riverside county location reiki.
Brainspotting therapy is not pseudo science but actual brain science. It utilizes the visual field to gain access to the subcortical region of the brain (basically where trauma and emotional blocks live) while bypassing the pre-frontal cortex (where executive functions live like talking. This is the part of the brain you stay in for talk therapy without an ability to reach the subcortical and truly address the trauma or blockages, it’s literally scientifically impossible for talk therapy to treat trauma. Talk therapy is great for certain things but trauma and performance are not one of them).
