Inspiring Conversations with Sarah Alomari of Extraordinary Boards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Alomari.

Hi Sarah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I am originally from the Middle East and I moved to the United States back in 2010. In 2019 I graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor degree in Biological Science and then started working in San Diego Fertility Center till I was laid off because of Covid in March 2020. I always enjoyed making cheese boards to my friends and family and everybody loved it and a lot of them encouraged me to do a business and sell them, so after staying home in the first 2 months of quarantine I decided to start my own business so I used my passion to make an extraordinary collection of Charcuterie boards.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The challenges that I had was because of the hard competition in the market and I wanted to make my collection as unique as possible to be recognized by the customer so I made different designs with new ideas for all my boards and that helped me a lot to be different from what is out there, I made boards and cones for birthdays, anniversaries, picnics, business meetings, weddings and so on.. and I always use products that are high end and unique especially the cheese that I choose are imported from around the world.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Extraordinary Boards ?
My business is all about creating an elegant and unique charcuterie boards for all kind of occasions made with high end cheese, meets, fruits and nuts and also caviar (upon request) all designed in a very nice setting with flowers and edible gold. All of my work has one goal is to make all my customers happy and in love in their experience especially I deliver all my boards myself to make sure my customer is satisfied with my presentation.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
There is nothing in life is impossible to achieve. This business was just an idea and then after I had plenty of time at home I started this business by posting my work in social media and thank god now I have customers and I have a good source of income all of this was achieved because I believed nothing is impossible. Although being pregnant and having my first baby last month slowed it down but am starting a new advertising campaign this summer
