Inspiring Conversations with Tatiana Gorshkova of TG Mgmt. Group and Be Extra! Apparel and More

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Gorshkova.

Hi Tatiana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Russia. My dad had a great collection of vinyls. He is still a big rock-n-roller, and I grew up listening to a variety of genres from classical music to jazz, from classic rock to disco. I think that certainly influenced my attraction to West culture and the music industry overall. After my graduation in Russia (South Urals State University, major in International Affairs and Translation/Interpreting). We came to Chicago summer of 2010 with my cousin. I absolutely loved living in Windy city. It’s one of a kind experience. I got to meet many wonderful, talented and very hardworking people that I still do business with. I got involved into the nightlife and entertainment industry by bartending at first and running super fun after hours with a group of close friends after a while.

Moving to San Diego was quite a positive decision in my life, I really like the vibe and the people, and the weather, of course. I started working with Deep Tribe – LA-based Dj/Producer about four years ago as a booking agent and a manager, and I love the relationship we have built. I am looking forward to this year as 2020 was very tough on the music industry, and we are very ready to rock it, for sure.

In March of 2020, I finished my MBA in Marketing Management. At the same time, I was laid off from my corporate job, and that’s how I started developing an online business I was interested in for a while. And, that’s how Be Extra Apparel & More was born. Now I am working on a few projects: TG Mgmt. Group, Deep Tribe and Be Extra Apparel & more and Be Extra! Sundays on Farris Wheel TV.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It certainly has never been a smooth road; however, my personal persistence, vision, goals, love for the music, and also some very supportive friends and loving family is what keeps me going. I am grateful for where I am at, but I am also very critical to myself. My main personal struggle is probably me living far away from my family. I really miss them a lot. As of now, I am in the process of team building, as I am extremely limited on time working on all the projects simultaneously, I am looking for a reliable assistant, my right hand that I can trust and delegate some tasks. I believe that a strong team is one of the keys to success. Nightlife is a fun industry to work in, but late nights can become quite exhausting over time, so it’s important to take time for yourself and restore the energy.

We’ve been impressed with TG Mgmt. Group and Be Extra! Apparel and More, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I currently run a few projects: TG Mgmt. Group – my artist management, bookings, promo and Event Company. My main artist is Los Angeles-based DJ/producer – Deep Tribe. We have been working together for a few years, However, I am working on bookings for other artists at the moment as well. TG Mgmt. Group was created to provide ultimate support to talented artists in many aspects as consulting, EPK writing, promotion, bookings and management.

My second business was started in March of the last year when everything got shut down due to a pandemic. It was certainly quite a year, but I’m glad we are coming to back to normal, and I had time to create Be Extra! Apparel & More – online store created with my love and passion for the culture of electronic dance music, a store where one can find a variety of cool fun t-shirts related to the music, comfortable activewear, casual wear, summer and festival outfits. We proudly provide merchandise to a few labels and artists, like Farris Wheel Recordings, Transmit Recordings, Brooklyn Fire, DeetTribe and Tony Arzadon. I would like to create an ultimate platform to the artists for their merchandise and help them to have no easy hustle experience while delivering quality products to their fans.

You are welcome to check it out at www.BeExtra.Store. Another project that came to life about a month and a half ago is Be Extra! Sundays on Farris Wheel TV on We do the Livestream every Sunday from 2-6 pm PST.

I am very happy to have the opportunity to host talented artists/DJs/producers. Now, when everything is re-opening, we will be streaming from the venues most of the time and sometimes from the studio.

On the 18th and 25th of July, you can find us throwing house music beats in Amplified East Village. I love meeting new creative people and share the moments of good music and positivity with people 🙂 everyone is always welcome to our events; we are open to new ideas and collaborations.

Can you talk about how you think about risk?
Being an entrepreneur is always a risk. My biggest risk was probably making a decision to build my life in the US. and I am glad I took it. This certainly has been quite a journey for me. I can call myself a risky person, but I am also very cautious and like weighing all pros and cons before making a decision. However, sometimes, I tend to listen to my heart and intuition. After finishing my MBA in Marketing Management, I became more pragmatic and preferred to do a lot of research on any subject before taking a step. I am blessed to have my family and some wonderful mentors in my life that can give honest opinions. Making the right decision requires cold thinking, and sometimes it’s not an easy choice.
