Kyle, it’s been too long since we last connected. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with our community again. Some readers might have missed our prior conversations, so maybe you can kick things off for us with a quick intro?
As a Joyful Mindset Coach, my mission is to teach & encourage others to elevate their thinking in order to live just a little more joyfully every single day.

As a self-proclaimed Purveyor of Joy, I get to provide vibrant mindset coaching & consulting services for ambitious women + organizations looking to live with more bold clarity, firm confidence, & daily contentment – no matter their circumstances.

In all of my work, I draw on my more than 2 decades of global leadership & mentoring experiences (most notably at Qualcomm, Classy, & Invisible Children) aiming to infuse positive energy + enthusiasm EVERYWHERE I go.

Having spoken to audiences of all sizes across 4 continents, PLUS, having created + hosting the Expert Interview Series, I love working collaboratively with each client, wherever they find themselves, to find fiercely unique, joyful solutions to everyday challenges.

While not coaching, I can be found creating my signature “Joy in a Jar” body products, practicing at-home yoga, & adventuring gratefully through each day with my husband + 2 kiddos in Del Sur.

The term life coaching and mindset mastery are becoming more and more familiar but what is your Joyful Mindset Coaching all about?
Yes, isn’t it awesome that we’re seeing a trend towards self-discovery in all areas of life?! I LOVE IT!

Life & mindset coaching can be thought of much like in athletics – I get to support, guide, & encourage my clients to think differently and then go do life with a new, more positive & enthusiastic perspective. We work on exercises together and in-between sessions which help us shift our thinking a little bit at a time, improving our mindsets on a daily basis.

And much like playing a sport, mindset work takes practice! We have such a multitude of thoughts every single day so shifting them takes time, repetition, & patience. That’s what working with a coach provides you – accountability to put into practice healthy habits, routines, & thought processes to uncover just a little more joy every single day.

We live in a world full of “mindfulness & meditation” type messages (advice, hacks, tips, etc.) yet, an overwhelming majority of us feel disconnected and more anxious than ever before. What approaches does your Joyful Mindset Coaching suggest to combat these common sentiments?
It’s so true! There are hacks, how-tos, & people telling you how to live life constantly when you go down the rabbit hole of mindfulness.

To combat the fact that we’re always being thrown sooooooo much information, my Joyful Mindset Coaching focuses on a simple curriculum which encourages you one small step at a time to make little shifts in your thoughts, feelings, & behaviors. And we do it together, creating a personal adventure which is unique to you.

Additionally, in all of my coaching, I utilize something I call “prayerapy” – using the ancient spiritual practice of prayer as a therapeutic tool combined with guided breathwork + visualization. So many of us think meditation would be great to incorporate into our routines but rarely commit to trying or sticking to it. Much like you pay a personal trainer to hold you accountable to a workout, “prayerapy” allows me to be your encouraging reminder to find stillness, reconnect with breath, & ultimately clarify your thinking through meditation so you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

Prayerapy and Joyful Mindset Coaching helps you navigate your thinking, utilize personal values to guide your decision making, claim your most important identities, & prioritize your unique balance in life – all which lead to feelings of connectedness and decrease the anxieties of your day.

Many people use the terms happiness and joy interchangeably but how do you distinguish the two?
They do! But I’ve come to find that happiness is most often based on external factors whereas joy is something foundational, personal, & internal.

Happiness comes and goes but joy is the essence of our natural being. While happiness can add to our joy, it can also be exhausting to constantly maintain; joy on the other hand is always refreshing & energizing.

We all want to live in joy BUT rarely have we taken time to stop and define it. Many times, we waste a lot of time confusing it with temporary happiness and are left feeling empty, exhausted, & disappointed in the pursuit. Since it’s extraordinarily hard to experience what you haven’t defined this is precisely what we explore + uncover in Joyful Mindset Coaching – what YOUR personal joy is all about!

You talk a lot about your “3 Es to a more vibrant me!” What are they and how do we use them practically in our day to day life in order to find just a little more joy?
The “3 Es to a more vibrant me” are a simple reminder of how to define your unique joy in order to encounter it more authentically & consistently. It’s a 3 step cycle that you can call on at any time and stands for:

1. Explore
2. Evaluate
3. Experiment

In my digital journal called “Redefining My Joy”  I provide easy steps you can take today to start using this process of uncovering your vibrancy!

Through exploration of what makes your soul sparkle, to an honest evaluation of what circumstances allow you to thrive, we then end on step 3 of our cycle – experimentation, committing to try new ways of thinking, feeling, & doing that cultivate our recognition of joy. This process helps you to keep figuring out what makes your soul come alive and then go and do more of it!

Basically, you can think of it as a way to put your mindset into motion – finding just a little more joy along the way, every day!
