Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittani Presents.
Brittani, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Being able to make people feel good and see their beauty through my work is the most rewarding feeling at the end of the day. Why move to Hollywood when you can make everyone that sits in your chair feel like a star. Success to me isn’t about how much money I make, it’s about how many people I bless. I truly believe when you love what you do, you’ll never work another day in your life… ❤️
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been an easy journey I spent eight years of my career in an environment where there was no support. I had to just believe in myself. I spent my days off taking all kinds of classes trying to figure out where I could fit in. Then, almost two years ago, I decided to take my career in my own two hands and that’s when doors and windows started to open. I got offers from big Brand companies but I knew that not just one brand had everything. Also, my goal was not to be popular I really wanted to make a difference in people lives. So, I started teaching myself for a whole year learning my clients and finds ways to make them better. My best advice to young women trying to start a business is to follow your dreams no matter what.
Please tell us about BrittaniPresents.
My brand is all about healthy hair coloring I specialize in blondes natural blondes brunettes redheads and Brazilian blowout smoothing treatments. The best thing about my work is that it gets better as it grows out clients are able to go months to years without coloring their hair and it just gets better as time goes on. So, when they color their hair it’s not because they have to it’s because they want to. What sets me apart is that I really do care I take my time to listen and so I can better serve my guest I only work on one client at a time. This decision was really hard for me coming from Mi salon where I had to double book work on more than one client at a time. So, now that I’m on my own, I can work the way that I want to work which is one guest at a time and I’m able to take the best care of my guest while in the salon.
Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
One of the biggest barriers and female leadership today is that too many people focus on what someone else is doing and just because someone else is doing it, they think that they cannot do it but if you focus on your self and know that there are plenty of lanes for each of us and all of us can be as successful as we want to be, we all get the same 24 hours instead of competing with other women, we should be supporting each other. I am a strong firm believer in supporting other women that is what I stand by.
