Life and Work with Caroline Ramirez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Ramirez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always liked exploring and being a tourist in my own city. One of my favorite things to do in my free time is discovering new coffee shops around town. I have a really big passion for coffee, in general, and I love going to a different coffee shop whenever I get a chance. Whenever I get to one, I take a pic and review it on my Instagram to share with my followers. I enjoy coffee so much that I became a barista at a popular coffee shop, and I have no regrets. I also enjoy photography on my downtime, so that’s why I decided to become a blogger. I share a lot of nice city spots with my followers, that way they can experience all of the places I enjoy.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting to the point of having a barista job wasn’t quite as easy as I thought it would be. Most shops require experienced baristas with latte art skills. And although I was always at coffee shops, I had never actually had a job in one, so I was a little bit doubtful in actually obtaining a job in one. The trick is to never give up. If you’re really passionate about something keep on trying no matter how many times you’re turned away. Just when you might want to give up, someone will give you a chance and it will definitely change your life

Please tell us about #CoffeeWithCaroline.
You can find most of my coffee shop reviews on Instagram under the hashtag #CoffeeWithCaroline. Although I don’t have an actual blog website I consider my Instagram (@carolinaxramirez) to be one. It’s like my helpful photo album that I’m sure a lot of people enjoy.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
Yelp is one of my favorite apps for finding new places around town. Other than that, I use Instagram to follow fellow San Diego bloggers and baristas.
