Life and Work with Nichole Trinidad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nichole Trinidad.

Nichole, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In August 2017, I launched my online shop.

Before that, I was working at my sister’s company as a social media manager. I was creating content, leading to some huge social media campaigns, & growing the brand with my team.

Unfortunately, after working there for almost three years, I had lost my inspiration. I realized that I was too focused on the company goals that I had none of my own.

I was depressed & confused. I would constantly ask myself “is this what you want do the rest of your life?”

The answer was a clear no. I knew I needed to find my OWN passion & make my own goals.

I mean life is too short to settle.

So, I didn’t settle.

June 2017, I quit my job. I didn’t tell my parents because I knew they wouldn’t approve so for the next two months, I told them I was working from home… (sorry mom & dad if you’re reading this) little did they know, I was starting my own company in my bedroom.

For two months straight, I prepared the launch of my company. I don’t have a business degree/background but I did as much research as I could & gave it my best shot.

All I knew was I wanted to create meaningful jewelry that could help me & thousands of other women live inspired.

That’s how NTS Bracelets was born!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an entrepreneur has not been a smooth road.

I am faced with difficult decisions, rejection, fear, & occasional anxiety.

I built my company from the ground up & at the beginning of my journey, I didn’t have much support… there were a lot of people telling me to quit before getting started or to put my dream on hold & find a part-time job.

I did the opposite.

I wanted to not only prove to myself that I was capable but also others that I could become a business owner.

Now, here I am- funding, owning, & doing all that I can to continue to create jewelry with a meaning & purpose for women who inspire me! It is a challenge being a solo entrepreneur because I play a lot of hats but I love it because every day, I have the ability to encourage & remind thousands of people to live a life of passion & positivity!

This is WHY I keep going.

But my advice to any women out there who are just starting would be don’t give up. There will be times when you feel defeated. Seriously, I have been there… but the key is to stay consistent, resilient, & get back up.

Always believe in yourself & do your best. It’s okay to rest, but don’t quit.

The truth is if you quit, it means you didn’t want it bad enough…

So, keep your vision alive. Never ever give up on your dream even if that means you are the only one that believes in it at first!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with NTS Bracelets – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am the girl boss behind NTS Bracelets!

You’re probably wondering but… NTS stands for “note to self.” They are gentle reminders for strong, fearless, & empowered women to wear wherever you go!

I started my company back in 2017 in my bedroom in my childhood home. This year, I moved into a warehouse space with my boyfriend who is also an entrepreneur.

I primarily sell bracelets & necklaces with NTS mostly online, but occasionally you can find me at vendor shows in the San Diego & OC/LA area!

I am most proud to see my company & brand grow alongside thousands of women I admire! I say this all the time but I am so so honored to see women all over the country wear my jewelry & to be able to follow each of their unique journeys on Instagram! It’s humbling to see women in my community crush their goals & support each other.

My community of NTS babes is one of my biggest inspirations. Their comments, DM’s, photos, & emails, encourage me to keep my dream alive!

I think that is also what sets me & other businesses apart. Community is everything to me! I value their opinions & they are one of the main reasons I keep creating, giving, & inspiring as much as I can.

Not a day goes by where I am not grateful for their love & support!

Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
I think one of the biggest barriers to female leadership, in general, is that we are often underestimated.

I think that some people are still getting used to seeing young female CEO’s who are setting big goals & accomplishing them one day at a time.

I started my company when I was 25 years old & people would often judge & underestimate me by my looks or age. I have Asian genes, by the way, so I do look younger than most people think but I honestly don’t think it matters.

I think it’s about time we change our perspective on things a bit. I feel like sometimes people still think women are shy, dependent, conservative, etc. but to me, I see women THRIVING & being more AMBITIOUS & INDEPENDENT!

In the last almost 2 years of owning NTS Bracelets, I have been able to witness women all around the country do what other people think is impossible. They are not bound by societies traditional ways. They are doing things on their own terms & are more creative than ever.

So, if you are reading this & you want to be an entrepreneur or take on a leadership role, I say DO IT!!

Work hard. Stay positive. Make it happen!

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do something because the truth is you can. You are & will always be capable!
