Life and Work with Trianna Owen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trianna Owen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The moment I graduated from Cal Lutheran, I already knew that I wasn’t going to have a career in the major that I studied in, which was Communications. I moved back home to San Diego and started taking my real estate classes because I always knew that I wanted to practice it, however, practicing real estate full-time was never a thought in my mind. In the start of 2018, I earned my license and I was ready to “dive all in”, little did I know, what I was getting myself into! I started off with a small brokerage that my uncle owned where he helped me get started, however, I learned that I needed more of a connection with someone who was literally going to hold my hand through the entire process. Three months later I joined a team over at Century 21 Award and that move changed my life, my mindset, and my goals. I felt myself growing emotionally, spiritually, and physically every single day that I went to work. During my time with that team, I helped six families buy their first home, and seeing the impact of my work helped develop my big “WHY” as to why I wanted to pursue Real Estate as my career full-time.

At the end of 2018, I made a huge decision to expand my business independently to Los Angeles. I knew that if I wanted to become a successful Realtor I envisioned myself being, I had to separate myself from a comfortable state of mind, and move away from home, friends, distractions, etc. The only thing I took with me was my boyfriend, Les Spellman, who is also on the same mission as me. I had to feel the grind a little bit to help push me further almost as if I had to enter into survival mode. Once 2019 came around, I was already in Los Angeles and ready to start all over. 75 Days later and I got myself my first million dollar listing! I am so excited to see what else this year has in store for me!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would be lying if I said that this new journey of mine is great because it hasn’t been 100 percent of the time. I miss home. I miss San Diego. I miss my family. I miss my friends. I miss being comfortable!!

The biggest challenge that I’m facing right now is simply being uncomfortable. It’s been six months, and I haven’t closed a deal since I left San Diego, so I am struggling hard financially, and it’s left me no other option than to keep working hard and to keep learning. I learned that it is ok to feel uncomfortable and to feel like you have hit rock bottom. There’s nowhere else to go besides Up at that point. I’ve learned what it takes to get to the bottom and because of that, I am fearless with whatever opportunity comes my way to take me to the top. When you are in the start of your journey, it is so easy to want to go fast and get results right away, however, we must work to learn before we work to earn in order to make it to the next level.

Embrace the struggle. Feel the hustle. Take in all the lessons and experiences as much as you can.

Please tell us about your work.
I specialize in first-time home buyers and luxury real estate. I love working with first-time home buyers because usually they are very excited about purchasing their first home, and being able to develop a strong connection and relationship with all of my clients is very important to me, because I am handling the largest purchase of their life and it is my job to make sure that it isn’t as stressful and scary as they thought it would be.

I also specialize in luxury real estate because I have a passion for marketing, and I love being able to show off a client’s home in a unique and innovative way. Not only that, but I hustle for all of my client’s wants and needs, and the most effective way is to actually pound the pavements and get knocking on people’s doors.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
I’m not a big reader, so I prefer to listen to podcasts and audiobooks. One of the podcasts that I have been super focused on is Project Mindset by Keven Stirdivant. It’s a very positive and uplifting podcast. Keven is very big on mindset and is very passionate about coaching others to be successful in their business all beginning with mastering the power of the mind.

The first audiobook that I ever listened to was the 10x Rule, by Grant Cardone. It taught me to do everything I do at a 10x level so that I can produce massive results and have the expectation of exceeding more than I originally thought I was going to accomplish.
