Life and Work with Angelina Ong

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelina Ong.

Hi Angelina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always loved shooting and creating videos for people to watch and enjoy. The love for videography then trickled into photography as well as my hobby grew more and more. It wasn’t until recently that I fully committed into turning this hobby into a possible career path for me. I know countless of people who complain about their 9-5, but I only know a couple that actually did something about it and now I can proudly say that I am one of them. I now offer photography and videography services but specialize in product and branding. I love playing with props and making products pop out in pictures as well as receiving a product and just letting my imagination go wild.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Is it ever really a smooth road when stepping out of your comfort level haha. I have definitely put this off for way too long and mainly the struggles I dealt with was my fear of not making it and just not feeling good enough. I had to learn that in order to succeed, I needed to commit to this new mentality of I am enough.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in product photography and videography. I am starting off as a two-person team right now, but I am looking forward to expanding my team and to fill it with creatives! I love reading a client’s creative brief and working with the brand to create something special so we can highlight their product.

What sets me apart from others is that I understand my clients have a lot to deal with so I want to make sure that the process of working with me is as easy as possible. I want to make sure that their vision for their campaign comes across clearly and that they feel proud when they see the final product.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is how far I have come. I’m not sure if it was from the pandemic, but I have grown both mentally and spiritually. I understand now that an idea is pointless if it only remains an idea. So what matters most to me is that 20 years from now, I can look back and be proud of the steps I took to make sure that I reach all my goals.
