Life & Work with Emma Hicks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Hicks.

Hi Emma, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello! My name is Emma, I am a content creator on Instagram and Tiktok that loves showcasing my passions. I primarily focus on pop culture and lifestyle and showcase these through Instagram static posts and reels.

I started my social journey 5 years ago, primarily as a place to share my favorite photos and to stop spamming my family on my personal accounts. In this past half-decade, I’ve found a love for social media, and creating, so much so, that this has become a business for me! I love doing brand collaborations with incredible companies, and being able to create content as a part-time gig.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting here, like most things, was not an easy road. I was challenged with an identity crisis and that mid-twenty battle of finding myself within the midst of the most formative years of my life. What always stayed consistent was my creative space on Instagram. Being able to have a dedicated corner of the internet where I can connect with other creators, with similar passions ended up being an incredibly stable part of my life that flooded me with opportunities.

Through this creative venture, I was able to monetize my platforms, find a line of work that made me passionate, as well as create lifelong friendships along the road. I’m grateful for every part of my story, as it has made me the person I am proud of today, and got me to this point.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Initially, I focused my content solely on theme park adventures with friends and family! I would post hot tips, theme park days in my life, and reviews on food, merchandise, and more.

As I’ve grown and gotten older, I have expanded my content to more lifestyles like work, days in my life, routines, and recipes. I make sure to still sprinkle in the magic w/Disney, and other pop culture vices, and it made it so that I could not only share who I am but everything I love as well.

What were you like growing up?
I was SO shy growing up! As an only child, I really did have a lot of “me-time”, but it got so lonely after a while.

I started looking for passions, and I ended up falling in love with photography and writing. In high school, I thrived in journalism and yearbook, and it feels full circle to be able to share my own highlight reel with thousands of friends around the world.
