Life and Work with Giada Bravo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Giada Bravo.

Hi Giada, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am an Italian journalist and a certified Montessori teacher for children aged 0 to 3. I was born and raised in Friuli Venezia Giulia, a region in the North East that borders on Austria, Slovenia and the Adriatic Sea. Despite being a land that has a lot to offer, famous above all for the beautiful mountains and for the production of excellent white wines, I have always felt the need to test myself somewhere else in the world. So, in 2019, I moved to San Diego with my husband and my son to embark on a new adventure. Making this dream come true wasn’t easy at all. I encountered many obstacles in my path, but I never gave up. I love nature, animals, and trips that give me the opportunity to discover places and different cultures.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
A few months after we moved to San Diego, the pandemic broke out. It was really difficult to face the change of life with an ongoing health emergency. Not only we did have to adapt to a new home and a new language, but we also had to deal with severe restrictions that limited us a lot both in socializing and in exploring the area.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I started my career back in 1998. I had been in the news for a long time but, over the years, I decided to broaden my skills by becoming part of the world of communication agencies. This choice allowed me to gain long experience in the advertising field and to cover roles in the press office, to Copywrite and social media marketing.

Since I live in San Diego, I have decided to reinvent myself starting two new projects from scratch: My San Diego and La mia California. The first one, only on Instagram, is an account where I promote the city through food, lifestyle and natural beauties photos. The second one is an Italian Facebook page, which you can also find on Instagram, that tells about my life in Southern California, offering travel ideas and curiosities day by day. My job is discovering, describing, sharing and I like traveling, writing, taking pictures. Long story short, I start from here with a lot of enthusiasm and with a coming soon blog that I hope will become my main job.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Family is the most important thing to me. That’s where I get my strength from.
