Life and Work with Lucero Adame Luna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucero Adame Luna.

Hi Lucero, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Lucero (LuLu) Luna I’ve been in the Beauty Industry for 5+ years. I originally had gone to cosmetology school to do cut and color but I ended up loving Makeup & Hairstyling more. I did get a lot of amazing opportunities at Bellus Academy school. I was part of the makeup photoshoots as a hairstylist, I did fashion week for two years, did makeup for fashion week News segments, was a student finalist for Trendvision, I would also go do demos for career day at middle/high schools.

I now work at Bellus academy as a Makeup Educator + a full-time Hair & makeup artist at my studio called Luna Glam Studio. I am also owner along with my daughter Veronica of: Luna Glam & Lashes, Glitter Freak Plug.

I am so thankful for all the amazing opportunities that keep coming my way and can’t wait to see what else the future holds!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are a lot of ups and down’s when it comes to having your own business. For example, the fear of not having clientele when you’re first starting, if you’re overcharging/charging to low. If family will support your career or not etc. But DO NOT GIVE UP! Push yourself harder and you will get what you want. It’s a process, you have to take baby steps, promote, promote, promote!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I do both Hairstyling and Makeup. I specialize in Bridal & Quinceañeras (sweet 15’s). Everyone knows I love doing cut crease looks! Full-on cut crease and half cut crease. My favorite! I’m proud where I am now I look back to when I first started doing makeup on clients and honestly, I’m surprised if how much I’ve grown and accomplished throughout these years. What sets me apart from others is that I’m unique in my own way.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, a lot especially with how us makeup artist has to adapt to new ways of using products, etc. The masks wearing isn’t really new to me I was already using prior to COVID (except when their taking professional pictures) Masks is something MUAS should be using, especially when working face to face.
