Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Sanchez.
Adriana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m Adriana and I decided to become a chef almost 10 years ago. I went to school for speech pathology and worked in that field for a few years but it was not my passion. I had no idea what my passion was, but I knew that every time I cooked I was at ease, how we say “a gusto”. I decided to go to culinary school in Boulder Colorado where I was living at the time. After I graduated, I proposed my school a pilot class teaching paella and tapas and in many of my classes, I would bring a flamenco dancer and people loved it.
Later I was an adjunct instructor teaching the unit of Spain to the culinary students. The busier I got at work and the kids activities, the less time I had to cook for my family. So I would always dream “if there was a sauce or paste that I could add to what I am cooking that was like a” flavor bomb” it would save me so much time. The one thing one thing I did not want to give up was, cooking healthy from scratch meals for my family. A well-prepared dish takes time you have to chop onions, garlic, peppers, deglaze, caramelize, it takes time and creativity.
One day that I got home at 8 pm from soccer practice with 3 hungry boys trying to figure out what to make for dinner I said if I can’t find this sauce, I am going to create it” So I did, so Driana Foods was born and our goal to bring people back to the kitchen, when you cook your meals you will have better health and well being.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This journey has not been easy, creating the formulas for the sauces were a challenge, then finding your message, your promise to your people, how are you going to deliver it? Many days I would say “today I quit”, “no mas” and something would happen that will give me the strength to continue. The hardest thing for me has been the emotional process of growing humbly as an entrepreneur and Chef. If you work on staying humble, trust and listen to the “omens” they will guide you along the way.

Driana Foods offers handcrafted all- natural sauces inspired in the flavors of Spain. We specialize in sauces that are used as a cooking sauce, finishing sauce, and marinade they help you cook more from scratch. We believe that when you are proud of what you made you want to share it, set a table and open up to great conversations.
What sets us apart is that what matters most to us is quality of our products. Our sauces were created by a chef who created the sauces for her children so picking the best ingredients and the care that goes to prepare them is number one to us. We make our sauces fresh every week, with no preservatives or emulsifiers, so our sauces refrigerated products, because products that don’t perish are not fresh unless you add preservatives that are really not good for you.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is to work each day on what matters to you and make that your life’s work. My criteria has never been to be “happy” or have more money, happiness is an emotion that comes and goes just like money what does not change are your core values, what you live for dedicate your time and effort to it.
