Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Perkins.
Adrienne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was asked as a high school graduate to work for a family member who was a residential designer. During my first few months working as an administrative assistant, I fell in love with the profession. I changed my major and began working towards a degree in design at SDSU. During my college years, I worked at two small residential firms. Because of this, I was ready to start my own business after graduation in 2008. I was married that year, and in late 2009, had my first child. My family was woven into the early years of my business and taught me the importance of balancing my family with my career. This is still a constant challenge, but I enjoy every minute of it.
Has it been a smooth road?
The largest struggle is balancing work and home. Having a career that you love can be its own curse. Enjoying your work can tear you away from the most important people in your life and it is vital to work to maintain that balance.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with AMD Interiors – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in residential interior design. I have many years of hands-on experience in the construction industry that have contributed to my knowledge of the construction trade. I provide full design services from concept to completion, including furnishings and window coverings.
What I am most well known for are my working single design appointments. During a single, three-hour design appointment, I am capable of designing a small to mid-sized remodel, and providing conceptual plans, as well as material selections. I am also quite well known by my clients for ability to establish and relate to my clients’ unique style. My portfolio does not emote a specific style, but rather the style of my clients.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the versatility in the San Diego Community. I can have a morning meeting where there is practically no budget parameters, and finish the day successfully designing a client’s living room on a shoestring budget.
- All appointments begin with working first appointment. This three hour meeting has a money back guarantee and costs $750
