Hi Alexandria, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
Hey everyone. My name is Alexandria Elliott. I am a mom to 4 kids and 1 bonus. Yes, it is like a Frat House every day over here… Happily married to my husband Shannon. We are a blended Hot Mess Family. But I wouldn’t change it for the world. My 11-year-old son is on the Autism Spectrum, he has Asperger’s. I have Stage 4 Endometriosis. Every day, I am dealing with Chronic Pain. Every day always has a surprise for me. Lol. I live life to the best of my ability. My relationship with God is one of the biggest things in my life. I LOVE LOVE music. all kinds. You can always find me dancing throughout the day, especially while cooking dinner. As a family, we love trying different restaurants here in North County. And at the same time, we are Home Bodies, unless you tell us it is time to cruise again. With the kids and Chronic Pain, you are probably like, ok your hands are full. Yep they definitely are. So, starting a Scentsy business was not on my radar. I started to just get the kit and what came in it. It took 2 weeks after getting the products and a little voice that said “open the business box”. And here I am 3 years later, a Hot Mess WaxBoss and absolutely loving my business. I get to help people choose a safe alternative to the traditional candle. No flame. No wick. No fire hazard. All while adding some amazing fragrance and decor to your home or office. And so much more.

What do you do that you feel sets you apart from other Scentsy Consultants?
I feel what sets me apart from other Scentsy Consultants is my Customer Service. I live by the rule, Customer Service can either make or break your business. I like to make each customer feel like they are my only customer. I make sure that their buying experience from the beginning is great. If someone comes to be as a first time Scentsy buyer. I want to get to know their likes, dislikes and budget. That way I can recommend products that will match what they wanting. After any customer places an order, I do not care if it is multiple times a month. I always send a Thank You gift to them. It is just a small way to show appreciation. They could have picked any Scentsy Consultant, but they picked me. I then make sure they are enjoying their products or if there is any products, I will do what I can to fix it. I like to keep my customers updated on any sales, updates, new products coming. I proud myself in the Customer Service. Because without my customers, I wouldn’t have a business.

How do you feel your personal business was affected during the Pandemic?
Wow. I believe all of us business owners, panicked big time, when the Pandemic. So many unknowns and uncertain forecast for our business. My heart and prayers go out to all of the businesses that were affected and those owners are trying to put their business lives back together. With everyone having to be home. Kids doing school from home. My business soared last year. Shocked and stunned. I seriously thought that I would be very slow. But I kept on. 2020 was a year we will never forget. For local customers. I started to offer Contactless Porch Drop Offs and Pick Ups. I doubled wiped down everything using gloves while dropping off orders. I couldn’t do any Home Parties, So I had to come up with different ways to be able to party and make money. So ALOT of FB parties and Text parties were and are still a big hit.

Between your husband, kids, a child on the Spectrum and dealing with the daily effects of Chronic Pain, how do you find the time to work your business and time for you?
I ask myself this everyday. Lol. And honestly, I don’t know most of the time. II set my alarm 30 minutes earlier than my kids. That way I can wake up and pray and just have peace. then throw some music on and just dance. That 30 minutes is life for me. Working my business is easy with the kids. Because my business fits in and around my family. My 12-year-old and 6-year-old kids are actually my assistants. They love being able to help me. My wins are their wins. Time for me is in the morning. And after everyone goes to sleep. It is always different. Some nights it is reading with a cup of tea or glass of wine. It might be a quick workout. Dancing. Catching up on a show or just sleeping. I am making steps to make sure I am always having some “me time”.

What makes your business unique? And why do you feel people love your products?
My Scentsy business unique, because we are all about fragrance and adding happiness in your life. The first thing someone notices when they walk into any house or room, is the scent. It could be a good scent, a bad scent or none at all. Our company makes it to where you can have the fragrance without the fire hazard. I know people love that they can have their home smell amazing and not have to worry about their pet or child knocking over a candle. And worrying about starting a fire from a candle. Our products are kid and pet safe. Our warmers match any and all decor. We have a scent for everyone. Our Diffusers are so stunning. We always have new products. Which gives our customers something new to try all of the time.
